Description

This interface is an attempt at restoring the original interface represented during the Shrouded Isles era of DAoC around 1.65
with some aesthetic tweaks to make the interface slightly more aesthetically pleasing while also providing some extra hidden
features here and there to modernize it a little bit.

My vision was always intended to keep the UI as close to 1.65 as possible, very similar to the Uthgard staff's approach to their
server's design as well, and just like Uthgard I put my own little spin on it ;) hehe, so keep in mind feature requests are not
necessary and I will not be taking them, what you see is what you get and if I decide to add or remove anything I've had my reasons,
hopefully this is respected by all and my inbox isn't flooded with feature requests that I will have to outrightly refuse because again, my
vision was to keep it close to 1.65's default, but you know how it is, some folks fail to read anything, they likely aren't even reading this,
you know who I mean.

Installation

Extract the 'custom' folder into your Dark Age of Camelot /ui/ folder
so that it reads:

.../Dark Age of Camelot/ui/custom/

(Do not overwrite, make sure to delete any custom folders in the ui directory prior to extracting the new one into your ui folder)

then set the interface to Custom in the options window at the character selection screen.

Features

Mainly the only custom changes I added were some floating status bars from the summary window and floating resist/attribute windows
in order to toggle these on and off you need to click the BAR for Health/Endurance/Power, to enable the floating target window you
just need to click on the "area" where the target bar would appear and disappear (bottom of summary window)

In order to enable the floating resist/attribute windows you simply need to open your character sheet and click on the attributes
section for attributes, for resists you click on the section right above it (weapskill, weapdmg, hit points, armorfact)

Known Issues

The vendor windows can report items with exceptionally long names incorrectly and bury the text under the scrollbar, the only place
I've personally seen this happen was in Darkness Falls on the demon vendors, I attempted to adjust the formatting to prevent the
issue but I have not been able to test it since, once I can spend some ample time in DF I will get around to making a proper fix,
assuming the adjustments i made didn't solve the problem.

On another note, some icons in the icon sheet are missing from in-game, I have not totally determined if this is my fault or Uthgard's
fault, but I will get down to the bottom of it.

What's planned for the future?

For the most part the UI isn't going to make any sweeping changes due to what it intends to be, the UI will stay largely the same
and in future versions will go through some foreseen format adjustments and aesthetic tweaks but that's it.

However that doesn't mean that I'm not planning on some other things, I will be providing a new set of maps to replace the default
maps in order to improve visual clarity for higher resolutions.

I do plan to release a fully custom UI of my own that modernizes the entire interface but that will be at a later date.

Special Thanks

I want to give thanks to those who helped me with the project, their contributions really sped this up.

I did test it out and found some stuff I am not happy with.

Bug:
- In the attribute window, the number of Strength is too low, it is not centered in the box.
- If you target yourself, have floating target open, then port, the window looks strange after port.

Changes:
- I want an option to disable the summary window, since I use floating windows, it is just in the way.
- Remove character name on floating health, it is useless to have there. You can not confuse it with the target window anyway since that one have a target-name.

Feature request:
- Give floating XP window.
- Give floating RP window.

In general a lot of the windows have a lot of 'dead air'.
If you look at the quiver, the dead air is over 200%.

Good eye on the attributes, i guess i forgot to double check the numbers there, I did fiddle with it for a good while before lol.

Remember the objective here, technically there shouldn't be any floating windows at all, just be glad you've got them! As for the "dead air" aspect, you can blame mythic for that, like i said the goal was to keep it pretty damn close to mythic's design, it may not make a whole lot of sense but it is what it is.

I'll make some adjustments though see what I can do.

One thing: SI interface only had one quickbar.

Well done .. altho this is quite unnecessary.

Perhaps it's unnecessary for you, but I have wanted a UI that is as close to classic as possible for a long long time.

I'm thrilled at this.

The summary window you are currently using isn't really like the one from live.

Classic style:

https://i.imgur.com/79BWTuh.gif -> with classic friends window

https://i.imgur.com/5zM2Lg8.jpg -> with classic group window
https://i.imgur.com/PZKistw.gif -> with classic friends window

SI style:

https://i.imgur.com/5JB97TX.gif -> with SI group window
https://postimg.org/image/ocvov0i4h/ -> with SI group and friends window

These are all images from the previous thread.
It is apparent that the current summary window is not the correct one, and it is massive if you compare the size to the old ones.
Same goes for the amount of 'dead air' floating about, especially in the group mini window (which did not have a title back then as yours does).

I know floating windows are not part of the old UI's, but the only reason I do use them is because the summary window is so big and bloated.

Love the UI.

One question, though. The font being used in this UI doesn't seem to be the original font from back in the day as can be seen here: https://imgur.com/KE0OaKJ

Any option to change that to that original font?

I won't bother going into a list by list detail as to what is and isn't 100% perfect. Things are as they are for a reason, yes i know fonts aren't 100% precise and I know the summary window isn't 100% either, there's a reason they aren't, like i said in the original post, what you see is what you get, period. Future versions will only correct formatting issues like noted before or issues with the icons, certain values are a pixel off and need that 1 pixel adjustent, that's what goes into a fix. The UI isn't going to be highly developed or overdeveloped beyond what it is, i will NOT be adding features so don't ask for them, I'll just outright ignore it.

Either you use it or you don't, don't care, some of you will prefer playing this way, some won't, that's why it was an option that you downloaded it at all in the first place. If I wanted to "sell" this UI don't you think there would be way more QOL additions to it? Even planned additions? lol fact is, I don't consider this "MY" UI, just an attempt to restoring a dead one, this UI was never intended to be an AIO - one size fits all solution, and it never will be.

Just keep all this in mind.

UI is great the way it is. I'm loving it. Simple, clean-cut, minimalistic, almost exactly as it was back in the day.

Enjoying the classic aspect of it a lot.

A bug though, which I think is related to the UI:
- The durability value is always 100% on both tooltip and right info window but on detailed info panel, the condition value is properly listed (at the correct value).
