How to transfer between alts ?

If I remember correctly, the only way to transfer items between alts (other than the old method of standing in Cam and begging someone to help you do a transfer, thus falling back on trusting human honesty) is to have a house with a chest (or access to one owned by someone else), and put the items in the chest, then the target alt can pull it out of there. Is this still true about chests ?
Re transferring gold between alts (I don't have any yet, but hope to one day), is there any item that you can sell back to the vendor at the same price you bought it for ? That way, you could put some in the house chest and your alt could get and sell it, thus transferring gold. Or is there another way, other than the human-assisted one ? And before you say use a friend or a guildie, I just came back to the game after years, so I have neither friend or guild so far (although hope springs eternal).... Within one account only...
You can buy merchants/house deeds and your alts can resell at same price. Only within same account! Albion and having fun

Yes we still use house with chest to transfert between alts
I think that housedeeds have 100% sellback value ! |

Merchants do too, for 100, 500, 1p and 3p if you need small amounts Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk |

Thanks for your replies all !!!
One other thought: if you have a house with a porch and a merchant on the porch, can you put gold into the merchant, or only take it out ? Either way, can your alts access the merchant and take gold out as needed, or can only the actual character that bought the house deed and built the house do that ? Never ask permission when you can beg forgiveness later.

You can't put gold on merchant.
You can: - Have friends/people bye stuff from your merchant. - Have alts withdraw gold from merchant (on same account). - Put merchants/deeds on merchant for no cost, and have alts remove them and sell them (on same account). Albion and having fun

House 131 on albion has a chest which is open to all.
I have used this house to bind and used this house to move between toons several times. Caveat emptor however, someone might steal your stuff. https://www.uthgard.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=37632

you lose 25% selling merchants (tested with novice merchant) It's the thrill of the chase
and I'm coming after you. |

What was the item name you used? Looks like "Appraise" does not print out the same amount of gold as you receive when selling. News || Getting Started || Rules || Issue Tracker

I can confirm that for me at least the Novice and Apprentice merchants sell back to the hookpoints vending window at full value, as do forge, alch table, and other household items which can likewise be dropped into a vault to sell back from another toon on the same account.
