Least popular classes and specializations across the board

I am doing a bit of research into something and need a little help.
Groups in Hibernia are fairly strict for the most part. I know there are exceptions but fhere seems to be a general way to do things in a PvE group in Hibernia. I am trying to explore other possibilities and need help determining all of the classes and specializations that are the least popular in the realm overall. Not just RvR, but also from the lowest level PvE groups. Across the board. From level 1 to 50, RR1 to RR10, what are the most unpopular classes and speclines of Hibernia? For the purposes of this research I need to think in terms of the final 50 spec, so keep that in mind. Oh yeah, I am NOT here to belittle anyone's chosen class. Please don't think that, or do that. Anyway, okay, here is what I can think of: Champions of all speclines Valewalkers of all speclines Light and Enchantment spec Enchanters Light and Mentalist spec Mentalists Void and Light spec Eldritches Nature Druids (High Regrowth too?) Battle Bards Are Wardens unpopular too? I am not sure. Also, what about the stealther classes? Anything else I am missing here? Thanks a ton everyone. |

As far as leveling pugs are concerned plenty of these classes want to be in your group just as little as you want them in your group.
They usally do a lot better without you actually. (Ranger, Light Menta/Enchanter, NatureDruid, Valewalkers to a degree) So dont feel too bad about them, they are probably several levels above you the next time you login. ^^ The only speccs I see struggling solo and in group are Light/Voideld. No solotarget focused groups. Lackluster AoE on part of the Voideld and no utility that would be overly useful in an ordinary levelingpug. As far as their solo ability is concerned the lack of a pet really hurts powermanagement (another nuke for those 5% hp? hell no...) Enchantment enchanters usually go hybrid (some mana some enchantment), highly desirable for melee groups. Mentamenta...this is not a spec...The healline is usually secondary in Hib, since its absolute overkill to keep it on level for almost every activity. For example, a lvl 40 druid with 40 in regrowth is very unlikely to do a better job in a leveling pug then a druid with 25regrowth and 31nurture. Even a nature druid would be a better tradeoff at that point. Champions and Valewalkers are rare but not really undesirable. Melee leveling groups are based around their supporters not the ones actually hitting stuff. ---- RvR plays by different rules, none of the above is really relevant for that. ![]() |

I haven't played Hib on Uthgard, so take what I say with a grain of salt, but based on what I have seen in RvR, and on other servers, I could give some input.
Champions: Solid tanks in PvE and can crossguard/debuff with the best of them. Decent peelers, 2h or 1h, and I think RvR competition has died down enough on this server that it would work well, but Det elitism still mostly prevents that from being seen. Valewalkers: Great damage in both PvE and RvR, but like the Champion the Det situation makes it harder to fulfill their role, and so they are unappealing for many in RvR. Enchanters: Mana Elds are just too good to spec anything else. Debuffs AND PBAoE (and pet focus)? Putting the rest of your points into Light is enough for any heat debuff train. Mentalists: Light fits great as a third or fourth caster in caster group. Their high damage, charmed pet, and RA (Sever the Tether) are fantastic, though I have seen groups running multiple Enchanters or Eldritches instead. I don't think anyone has ever put more than 28 points in Mentalism. Eldritches: Based on how many red nearsights I catch in RvR, I think Light Eldritches are pretty popular. Too popular for my tastes ![]() Nature Druids: They do well as solos, but I don't think Nature is generally raised above 32 in group play. Maybe in a 3 Druid group for better roots, but I haven't seen those often at all here. It was somewhat popular on Genesis, at least. Wardens: Essential in any Hib tanker. I would assume their usefulness in PvE was enough to guarantee their popularity, but every tank group should have a Warden in it. They are just too good in that group composition. Battle Bards: Only a useful spec for solo, as far as I'm aware, and even then it's a rough class to solo with. Some like the challenge, though, I'm sure. Rangers and Nightshades shouldn't have much trouble getting groups in PvE with their Dual Wield DPS, and they are both competent in solo RvR. Should be plenty of them. |
