Haven't played in some years, and decided to take a run at Uthgard. I played Mordred during this patch era, so this will be an altogether new experience for me. I made a few toons on Alb, and played 2 of them to ~20 odd over the weekend bonus exp, but wasn't really taken with it. I have played the crap out of Alb toons in the past though, so decided to delete them and reroll hib. Yep could have waited 7d for a transfer, but I am not interested in a fallback. Immediately I felt at home playing in Hiblands again, and have decided this is where I am going to hang my hat.

So I'm looking for a guild. I'm semi casual these days I guess, family and other RL stuff in general prohibits the amount of time
available to somewhat less than I used to have 15 odd years ago, so my hours would primarily be during Australian evenings and into the wee hours, though I am in IT and work from home these days so some days will see a few hours as well.

I'm currently working on a Chanter for cash/items etc, and a Ranger for sneaky solo time. Group character for guild rvr groups I am yet to decide on, though am leaning towards a BM as it is one of the few characters that I have not run in the past. That said, my favourite hib blue rvr toon was always my bard, so could perhaps take that route as well. As I said, undecided at this point, but I won't be rolling hordes of alts in the foreseeable future - a farmer, a soloer and a group toon and I'll be done for quite a few rr's.

Talena - baby Chanter
Seitaarin - baby Ranger

Chanter (cash cow) now over 30
Ment (pve group support) 20
BM (melee group + group rvr) 15
Ranger (sneak group + solo rvr) 12

A couple of other old timers have joined me,
Animist/Hero/NS
VW/Bard/Ranger

and we are happily levelling daily and enjoying daoc once again ... and keeping an eye out for a guild with a reasonable Australian tz presence

Early on we were in Sin Vida, later we made Lucid. You know between the 3 of us we probably had about 25-30 50's on Mordred, maybe half of which went to rr5-12 (Not afraid to admit one of us owned Warlogy for a while there, that was fun :), but most of the character names are dust ... all had to be renamed when xferred to ywain which doesn't help ... you might remember some of these, or at least something like this spelling ... Salminda, Evillain, Jophiel, Vasily, Mortis, Anaquista, Gabriall, Javla, Pinkbitz, Yaztromatos, Tobytaxi ... some of those lads we'd like to get back into Uthgard as well, but they actually grew up but we all played in net cafes and swapped around between them all alot :P

Pink and Toby definitely ring a bell... Evillain possibly too. I remember Sin Vida well of course. Don't remember Lucid tho... probably just cause I'm old now. Warlogy actually used to play Alb here when Uth 2.0 released, but not sure if he still does.

LOL I don't know how the character Pinkbitz survived the lifespan of Mordred without the name being appealed, considering some of the lastnames that he set on that character :P Evy was my little shammy I ran mostly during the time period when the big guilds were trying to band together to get ML's done and we made groups to kill ML zergs in SV, which we did alot ... didn't make many friends doing that, but I guess that was Mordred, hehe

Lucid was fairly late in the piece I guess, in terms of the Mordred heyday ... only maybe a year or so prior to classic server release (which we jumped on at day 1 and basically that was the end of our Mordred days), and we ran mostly during the Aus primetime so there wasn't a whole lot of crossover with the major groups that ran at the time :( We were fairly solid, we would give the IRC radar groups a run for their money in TOA at times, but we weren't superleets ... most of the time we were drunk, stoned, or both and just played for laughs.

Original Warlogy wasn't one of our crew, but my brother bought the account for giggles to play around with an rr11 rm for a while, so we all rode that bike at some point, it was fun. Not as fun as an rr10 fire wiz mind you, but still :)

Since the day it opened until a little after TOA, Mordred was life. I'd pay a substantial amount of money to be able to relive it on a freeshard

Drastix (firb BM), Drastikk (Minstrel), and Drastyc (Reaver) were my most prolific chars. I was in <FE>, then helped found <Validus> for 8man.

I recall the name, oddly enough - alot of time, life and vice has flowed under this bridge since those days, and I barely recall my own char names now so that's a bit surprising. Validus I remember.

Aah to reminisce ... I started the day SI was released, and remained on Mordred until Lamorak was opened. A RL friend rolled a paladin and I made a friar - oh how nub we were, lol. To our credit, the friar made it to RR6 before moving onto other endeavours and the pally a masochistic effort went into getting RR10, lol. We met up with a bunch of lads that had started on Andred and were moving across as that server failed and eventually merged, and another fellow who was the Sin Vida guild leader's younger brother. A couple of /30 and /20 toons were my attempts at experiencing blue servers, but they made no sense, so didn't stick until Lamorak opened by which time Mordred was seriously underpopulated - there was no sub 50 pvp only PL's, stuff all /20 random pvp in cots/mm etc etc, was basically gate campers or stealth duo-trios, with only the odd group running at all.

Lamorak then was a whole different kind of fun - the classic(ish) setting was so far superior to the TOA era of DAoC that we ended up sticking around there for a rather extended period - I ended up with RR8-9 bard/druid/champ before branching out and playing various alb and mid toons, but DAoC was well and truly running out of juice for our group by then and folks had mostly fallen to adulting related diseases so nothing really notable went on by then, a few rr5-6's and then let it go.

Anyways, that's gone a bit sideways and probably bored to death anyone that's made it this far, apologies :)
