been playing around with Spear/LW for a month...

the damage i was hoping for is sad here on uthgard atm. but still a bit better then onehanded spec.

but i was thinkin untill RR6-RR7 going LW 50 , Spear 50 rest Parry...
Alot of people tell me not to do it, and you should always have 42 shield ^^

But in live i know alot that used that above spec 50lw 50spear for both MA/Assist/ and or defender spec ^^

LW has there Stun spear gots its nice snare ^^

So whats your Opion?.....

my Spec after RR7 is going to be Full Shield/Blade spec for Full time defender.

I am in the process of finishing my hero for rvr and the spec I was going is 50LW 42Shield 38CS 10Blades.

So why? Heroes are mainly/only used as defensive tanks for obvious reasons. However it's important that you are still able to dish out damage when the situation requires it. Hence I have 50LW for it's awesome annihilation style and two types of damage (crush/slash) and 38 CS for its backsnare and plus damage on mercs/reavers/skald/...
10 Blades for the sidesnare that I can use while having to guard or so.

So I have three types of snares (side,behind,frontal), three types of damage (38CS isn't optimal I know but the backchain still has pretty high growth) and enough shield for guard/slam.

I don't think I'd go 50 LW 50 CS. The little extra CS dmg doesn't compensate the lack of good guarding and slam.

Then again I haven't been able to test it extensively but on paper it sounded good to me ^^

Never been fan of double 2h specc by fian.
@ Live I had 50 Spear, 50 shield rest 1hand & parry so I also could make nice duels @ perizor.
At uth are things different but I would prefer spear/shield 1h spec too, until LW line get improved.
I don `t think double spec in lw and spear is worth the points just to get all kinds of melee damage.

but 50 50 sounds interessting too ,..
