Is it just me or do vw seem to miss styles alot ?
I had like 10 attempts at doing an evade style on a yellow con mob with max weapon and only landed 2, very frustrating. |

They do tend to miss a lot, though make sure ur weapon is enchanted, if not this would explain. 2 out of 10 is very few indeed.

For this very reason I rarely play my VW.

I remember that back on live people also complained about that.

Cap scythe skill, str, get good enchanted weapon and you wont miss.

Obviously you will still miss occasionally, but yes this will certainly help preventing it as much as possible. In defense of truth-to-experience.

as far as I know, Valewalkers have always had hilarious miss rates.
first of all, their weaponskill does not scale properly with levels and until about level 40+ is a lot lower than it should be. however, weaponskill does not affect miss rates in any way (would be nice of Blue to check it in the code if he finds time for this). weaponskill only affects your chance of NOT having your attack parried/blocked/evaded. so having your Scythe skill at your level would not really help with miss rates. style bonuses would. that said, miss rates are fixed and class based. tank classes have lowest miss rates, while casters have the highest. and since Valewalker's base class is Forester (Hibernia's caster class), they are obviously treated as casters when calculating miss chances. this is all info I've gathered some years ago when I used to play on live and while I MAY be wrong, I'm pretty sure these are the actual game mechanics. FIX TEH PROFILE PAGE SO I CAN CHANGE MY SIG PLZ

high quality weapon with enchanter bonus helps.
on the other hand, that was much worse on live. for example the df vendor weapons with 85% quality - while being cheap - guaeranteed high miss rates. fulltanks arent that affected by it, but especially as vale it pays off to get a crafted one. even a 94% crafted scythe beats most drop gear. also, use your styles^^ if you evade, use your first evade style - and then use it again and back it up with the follow up, so if your stil in the reactional time window, it will land twice, pushing your to hit chance. example, if i use only taunt on a lvl 65 mob with baseline buffs, ill get beaten down to 30%-50% hp as lvl 50 in sc. if i use detaunt as main and my styles properly, i can bring the same mob down with over 80% hp left. yes, on first glance you lose damage with detaunt - on the other hand you can use your reactionals more often, get a higher defensive bonus and a higher to hit rating - and you can chain your high damage styles. |
