Hi,
I just startet on Uthgard. Played DAoC years ago, but as a ranger. Now i startet a Hero, but i can't decide between using a Spear and using Two-handed weapons. I have looked through the Styles, but I don't know the game mechanics good enough to take any benefit from that. Well, Large Weapons exist with Slash and Crushing Damage - so you could possibly switch between two kinds of Damage. Spears on the other hand deal piercing damage, which, if i remember correctly, deals bonus damage versus Chainmail - but i have no idea what i will actually be fighting in PvP. Any hints what you would recommend? And, on another topic, where can i find some armour for level 8-10? |

I think CS is the best option. It does plus damage against chain so you're effective against support classes. The backstyle has a snare too which is really usefull to peel and chase ppl.
Large Weapons has a great lvl 50 style which procs a 10 second stun or something but since u got slam anyway u don't need another stun style. Armour at that lvl I dunno. Just go for some vendor armour. |

I'd go with LW for sure. Its crush n slash and good against other melee ppl. Also the last style is a back stun which tbh is better than a snare ? :O

id rather have a snare than a stun if i have slam too
anytime stun > backstun |

Celtic Spear!

Definetly Celtic spear.
The Hero is the only Tank in Hib that can Spec a Piercing Weapon without loosing Stats you need for dmg. Piercing Weapons itself all have (Str+Dex)/2 for Dmg calculation while CS is 100% Str. In case of Blademasters for example you are rarely able to spec thrust dmg without loosing precious stats. |

Depends on your playstyle.
I will try Celtic Spear for my def hero next. not for the snare but the increased dmg against albion and midgard supporters. |
