This specs sucks, tried like 100k rps as hybrid (with 18 in cd) and i hated it, bow dmg is unreliable with lots of misses even at 35 + 16 in bow, besides nearly every stealther has vanish and will use it when u start firing at them and with the distance i had trouble finding them again even with mos4 and running around looking for em visible will get u a PA in the head. At pure melee u will get tosted with just 18 in cd, trust me i have tried. In melee u have to use CD styles as pierce/blade ones totally suck so a minimum will be 35 in cd. Only a high RR ranger will manage hybrid spec without being a gimp in melee but if u are low and still wants it i suggest going 27 in bow and 31 in pf. The u can still have good cd and do nice melee dmg. I say hybrid spec is a good way to gimp ur char, u will be ****** at both melee and bow and have to waste ra points in high mos. Play full bow for leecher/grouping mode at amg or full melee for fun soloing. |

/disagree Jonah I´m doing fine soloing while being "leech specced"! Satas Hakx - various artists

That's because as a sniper spec your most dangerous opponents are other archers, and hardly anyone plays Scouts and Hunters on this server.

With a melee spec how poor would the bow damage be?
Months without playing DAoC... my fingers are switching imaginary chants. I hope my AlbionHouse doesn't get evicted... want a NVidia... NOW! |

Bow damage dont raise much above 51 composite spec. Like Seyha stated in another thread, he does about 400 dmg on weak armor with 46+17. I do around 250 with 12+14. So, the about 40 points more in bow brings about 30% to 40% more damage. ![]() ![]() |

With a melee spec u only use the bow for poping bladeturn just before engage with sidestun and interupts when rooted. Not worth using else tbh, u will loose position and reweal yourself and the bowshoots will just be miss miss evade anyway. |
|
Hmm and with the Pathfinding runspeed buff you can easily catch any runaway foe I guess, so bow will be useless.

I work to final spec my Ranger (49.9 atm needs to cap Thid) at
48 PF 35 Recurve 34 Pierce 30 Stealth 19 CD 48 PF will provide with WC to outmatch every other stealther, fastest swing speed and the best possible AF & DA. SC is pretty difficult to do, given that needs some pretty exotic material, however that's I have my Champion for ![]() And yes AT the recurve is paramount. Other than that for pure assassin killer 46 PF 39 Pierce/Blades 33 CD 30 Stealth 12 Recurve (AT) however requires high RR to achieve, and many RAs. (Toughness 3, IP2, Purge1, PD3, MoS 3+) And is the setup I run on Excalibur with high success. |

yeah its so fun when a gimp minstrel tries to sos away, speedshout > sos1 in speed so u will catch up before he can put normal speed on and backsnare him ![]() |

What do y think about this spec ? 31 path 35 bow 35 blade 35 stealth 36 cd or it's better to drop cd for the yellow add demage ? 36 path 35 bow 35 blade 35 stealth 31 cd i want to play hybrid! Thx for the advice! |

I think the difference between both is quite negligible ![]() ![]() |

Also remember when specing and choosing a play style, that we will be going to old ra and old stealth system at some point, so if your new to the archer, it maybe better to get use to the fact you will not have MoS for bow spec or for kiting by restealthing. I currently run with only MoS2 with my Hybrid spec and can do fine , and even Critshot from stealth vs assasins who are also stealthed with a little thinking of how my enemy may react.
On specs, there is many out there, but after testing how are stats affect melee, it is very little. Like specing to 48 or even 50 PF to up your melee, will not benifit as much as you think, the damage add at 46 PF is the only thing worth it. Bow on the other hand will benifit from the higher PF, unless you lower your bow spec to get the higher PF, which in that case, you maybe achiving the same bow damage as you would have with lower PF and higher bow spec. Here is the hybrid spec i would recommend at 50 for a luri/pierc spec. 34 stealth 39 pierc 21 cd 35 bow 40 pf or 34 stealth 34 pierc 21 cd 40 bow 40 pf After testing, both theses specs seem to preform about the same for me. Melee dmg seems to be about the same, maybe sometimes a point or two higher with 39 pierc on some hits, and a little higher bow dmg on some hits, since the large varience will hide those benefits sometimes. You can try out many specs, but what really matters is your RAs, like IP2 or higher, purge 1 or higher, and some Physical Defense / Toughness for survival. With out IP and other RAs, you may find the best spec just doesnt cut it, depending your enemy and your opening. |

Just rolled a Celt ranger i plan on going full melee with as Pierce, anyone suggest a rr4 spec ?
|
|
You can try this spec with your celt melee ranger at rr4.
Pierc: 36 CD: 39 PF: 42 Stealth: 35 Bow: 12 AutoTrain RAs Ignore Pain 2 Purge 1 MoS 2 6 RA pts left over. You will want IP2 and at least Purge 1 (Time purge on possible stuns coming, like slam is predictable) Few more ranks and you can up your Physical Defense and or Toughness. You could also get MoS 3, but isnt really needed for melee and when old ra's come, you will not have it anyway. My hybrid bow/melee ranger runs with IP2, purge 1 and MoS2 just fine. I dont run full melee, so im sure other full melee rangers could have better advice on spec. |

what do u think about those 2 specs?which is better
(rr5) blade 36 CD 39 PF 42 stealth 35 or blade 39 CD 36 PF 42 stealth 35 |
