One can play good a Mercenary with 50Shield 35Weapon 34DW rest in Parry (lol) too, but the performance are different then one that use the classic spec.

The funny thing is that 50 Scythe 38 Arb 20 Parry is the classic spec for VW here. On Live Server 44 Scythe 49 Arb or 50 Scythe 43 Arb is better because of the dmg add buff and Cast disease...
It´s true that Parry doesn´t help much but more Arb doesn´t help either. Just for the Info you dont have Focus (well it doesn´t work).

With that you are able to cast 13 Nukes straight, without Mana RAs and Mana Potion. I bet with a real Caster its more.


Maybe I´m not as "good" in crunching Numbers than the nice guy there, but I actualy have some practice playing a VW in grp/solo/duo/smallman.
The thing is you also need a Warden in Group for the Resist vs Mezz, so your det5 actualy helps.
When i play in grp i usualy am the Ruptbot - means I´m going in the the BMs and pick the Theurg or Healer or whatever.
If there are no Enemys nearby it´s usualy better to use the Sidechain, but usualy I use it only once against the same guy, because I can usualy do more dmg with Conflag then.
As I already said it´s Anytime AND it´s only 2 Styles, it happens a lot of times that your 3rd Style of the sidechain gets blocked or you hit into the Autobubble.

So all in all I recommend you 50 Scythe 43 Arb, you will lose way too much DMG potential with only 44 Scythe and the 49 Arb wont help much more than 43.

BTW the main reason is why I have that "noob" spec lolol... is that im kinda lazy to respec that AND i play duo often too.
Some more defense helps a lot there, and I don´t really miss much with the less Arb spec

but for 8vs8 the classic spec always be 50 scythe and 43 arb..
you can't give this advice to one that ask for a 8vs8 spec.
you speak much about live but no one considered it, is a total other game and vw have 100 different thing like front root or the side combo of only 2 style...
Here he speak about damage and buff (because i never listen for new patch issues) and infact he's in right....
no one criticate your playstyle infact when hevi speaked about the spec 49 arb 44 scythe say CLEARLY that have a completly different gameplay...

You asked some advice about VW spec. Garte has the kindness to give you advice, to share his experience, so just listen the answers of nice players would be nice don't you think?
Not only listen to a 9L1 VW, but listen to a VW who up RR his char soloing, duoting and playing in grp. And for having seen him playing, you can be more trusty in what he told you ^^

Then the same for GreenP, he plays nicely his VW, not only a 8L6 VW, but also a VW who played a lot solo, duo, small or in grp.
It's crazy like in this servor how people can denigrate the RR of some players!

And just by curiosity, I would be happy to know Hevi's VW name.

It's not really the subject, but if i understand well, on Uthgard, Conflag style is a 2 style chain ? It's not the 4th style of evade chain ? Scythe spec is the post 1.84 version ?

I just say that i haven't a VW on uthgard...
And now you will for sure say: "Uthgard is not DAoC well is all different".
And where is different for a VW? Now they have no bug (The only bug is in the Block Arrow Style)...You can say about the Defence Penetration, ok, and what change for the Spec advice that i say? You can speak about the Resist Rate, good, what change? Or better something change, but for ALL Caster Class...
Well i played the VW (Solo, Trio, Small Man & 8vs8) in the Classic patch and in all patch after since SI was released ...

You can say he's 9l, 10l or 11l but this count relatively my VW was too 9l but don't count the Rank, the high RR can reached spend only time, ability is secondary if you do RvR every single day, there is ever people noobest then you that can give you PR, and is for this that i don't speak about my VW and say:"I had a VW 9l well i know how to play better then you" because is useless and is the noobest thing that someone can do, this server is full of idiots 10l+ (And i'm not speaking about no one of this post because i never see they play) and you guys know too the name.

sorry hevi but telling kralle is just a dump rr9 who has no clue about his class is just fail. realise it, he is one of the best VW of the server. so i d defentily trust him more than ur live experience trying to transfer it to uthgard

Never say that he is dumb... I never see he play... Well don't make me say thing than i never sad... I only report the fact around the VW... And your is the classic answer of a Uthgard player... Now if you wanna give a motivation about what you sad, say me what change in 43 arb 2parry or 38arb 20+ parry here on Uthgard or on the Live? There are Bugs that change something? Don't think so, the CLASSIC Live (Well don't speak about the new changes of the VW) and the Classic Uthgard HERE in THIS case (About the spec) are the same...
