Much greater than yours, "casual".

Anyway as I was saying, I see phateon whining constantly about how there's no players at his our but when he was on hib I only saw them farm soloers with a smallman in odin's gate (dunno if they ever stepped into emain), and on mid they always add or zerg making the enemy log out then complain how there's no inc  brilliant.

There's plenty of players at us time.

lol, you're a joke. but keep on fighting the good fight.

And no, there aren't plenty of players during US hours. There's usually ~250 ppl logged in, and emain is usually pretty dead during our time of the night.

Your group last night was a joke, that is until you came back with 16. Then it was hilarious. Hope you had fun in empty emain afterwards and dead "us primetime."

This isn't directed at any one person in particular. This is just a general observation by reading these forums.

Anyone ever pause to think that petty bickering may actually drive new players away from the server/community? Also, there is a constructive way to communicate your thoughts on issues with current game mechanics. Just shouting that something is OP is not going to remedy anything. Try to figure out exactly what you believe the issues are and write clear and concise examples of the issues and potential ways to resolve them and your input may be better received.

I know this is a multilingual board so just do your best on using proper grammar in whatever language you are most proficient at so others can more easily ascertain what you are trying to say and more easily get to the bottom of the issue, if an issue even exists. Clear communication is the key to getting issues resolved not by trying to be the loudest in the room.

Just play the game and do your best to make Uthgard, and any other game for that matter, the best it could possibly be.

I thought it'd take more than just text on the internet to scare a person away, especially since the text doesn't contain anything offensive or graphic.

As the forums are public it may be the first impression for a potential player looking into playing on Uthgard. If they see rubbish posts they may think the entire place is rubbish so if an individual wants Uthgard to flourish they need to be responsible for every post that they make and the effect it may have on other potential players and the overall quality of the community.

If players truly want the staff that works hard on providing a quality game experience to continue to improve the game it is their part to play by providing quality feedback and constructive criticism rather than bickering amongst other players. As it is well known everyone has their own play style and as long as it is within the rules to play their way they may continue to do so. If you have an issue with an individual player or group it may be best to send them a private message or a tell in game to inform them of your dissatisfaction rather than arguing back and forth in front of an audience of which will take away staff time that could be better spent on something that can't be easily prevented unlike bickering/whining/nonconstructive posts.

Hate and discontent only breeds more of the same so do your part and try to be constructive and influential in the betterment of DAoC, Uthgard, and the Uthgard forum community.

The posts of a few don't cope with the actual server setting and server experiences that new players go through while playing on Uthgard when it comes to forming an opinion on the server.

If there is a general attitude claiming that something's wrong for instance, while in fact it is, it would be ridiculous to not out that opinion because "it might scare away new players". When something's wrong, let the staff know and talk about it, if you really want to help the server. Covering up discussions or opinions about what's wrong or could be better for the sake of giving a good impression to newcomers is just stupid in such a situation.

Of course general irrelevant or irrational random whine isn't helping out either.

I never said to cover anything up, but to discuss things in a constructive way rather than in ways that serve no purpose other than to hinder the community and development of Uthgard. If you post your issues in the proper way it is in no way detrimental to new players or the community, but the way most concerns are expressed are in a fashion that brings no good.

As to get back to the original topic though, sorry about the derailment, I am told that the North American population is slowly starting to build and North American players can do their part by spreading the word to their friends about what the staff is trying to accomplish with the project and to give it a try.

When I started on Uth you could count the American players on two hands. The ones that RvR'ed at lvl 50 on one. I'd say there have been a LOT more americans lately. I rarely play past 1am CET so I can't say what RvR is like at us times but judging from most posts/comments it's pretty dead.
Why not organize something similar to this weeks zerg event but in US primetime? You won't get 80vs70vs80 fights but atleast show the other americans that there's people around at off hours. I might be wrong but from what I observe everybody is like meh emain is dead at this hour, I'm not gonna bother.
