Best way to catch up?

So just deleted my Mid characters and made a Druid. I was starting to think I made a solo class. Since i have empty gear slots and a garbage green weapon even doing kill tasks on blues can be hard. Figured Id just turn on LFG and spam guild and zone chat every now and then and since Im a Druid Id have a group in no time. Well 2 hours later I finally had one. We all got 2-3 levels each and it was fun but had to log for the night.
I noticed 2 things that concern me about my recent reroll decision. First one being that it took 2 hours to get a group as a Druid. I dont like comparing realms but since the Devs swear up and down population imbalance isnt that bad Im going to. The only thing my Healer and Shaman ever waited 2 hours for was the queue when we still had one. Regardless of their level they both got random tells to join groups even if LFG was off. The second thing was our inability to replace members that left. Now I hope this is just a low level issue. I realize this server has been out for 2 months now, which means majority of players are 30+. So that brings me to the title of my post. If low level grouping isnt as active as Mid then whats the best way to get enough levels so Im in a range where grouping is active? I guess I could put points in Nature for the DoT and better pet but then I gimp myself once I do find a group. If I stick to my group spec will I be able to do kill tasks or will they take too long to be worth it? Guild chat was fairly active when it came to needing people in their mid to late 20s so that seems like a good goal to accomplish by the end of this weekend. |

I think you are right about people having toons at higher levels.
One of the things you could try is the hib discord channel. it has a lfg section. Some peeps may have alts at various levels and would be willing to swap onto one of them. viewtopic.php?f=62&t=41407 Na Fianna Dragun

2 trains of thought tbh mate and im sure your aware of both. kill tasking is as always quite efficient and your pet will have no trouble killing the blues that you need to. there is actually a very good video on the forums showing the best spots to kill task from viewtopic.php?f=62&t=41941
the other see if you can find a chanter bard/menta to grp up with you and the levels will fall quickly focus pulling is very good as long as you dont over stretch yourself its also the foundation of many a group. also there are many people currently rerolling hib myself included couple of weeks ago. so in that regard you are fairly lucky hib has a good spread of levels atm try find a lowbie guild that is still leveling up there are quite a few currently and its bound to increase chance of finding/making a group if you are looking for a guild with a wide range of levels then feel free to PM me (bredana GM of Celtic Fist) we are mainly EU timezone wise but if you are from over the pond there seems to be no shortage of people playing during american primetime ![]() also i know its not ideal but sometimes its good to roll a class thats good at soloing for when groups arent available and there is ofc the added chance of seeing someone asking for your primary class in one of the various chat channels anyway good luck with the leveling and i hope you manage to find your way ![]() chipper 46 paladin (currently retired)

Yea I know people focus pull a lot but I thought that didnt really get going until 20+ once you got better focus shield and Druids got a few more points in Reg to make healing easier. I will proly make a solo class as well. I still had my BD even though I played a Healer and Shaman. But whats a good solo class? Even though my Mythic account was created in 2001 I have very little Hib experience. Albs have Necro which is basically cheating. Same goes for Supp BD and instant lifetap tanking with Healer pets. Will Enchanter solo as well as those guys? |

Personally all my chars are between 21 and 4 atm (having rerolled from mid recently). the 21 is my mana chanter and it has been completely solo leveling. Did grp with a ment the other night but he ended up costing me xp when he decided he could just afk mid pull. My next highest char is mana ment and all solo play there too, though I have gotten a couple grp offers on ment they came as I was logging for the night. Time of day seems to have an effect on grp invites being early morning pacific or later at night pacific. Or in more basic terms, about the time the Germans are starting to go to bed to about the time they get up. |

nothing holds up to necro in the soloing sweep stakes chain pulling oranges is just wrong and should never have been allowed. enchanter can solo but not like a necro afaik anyway. im still fairly new to it myself but i found it much easier once i got my nuke pet companion. and now i have my compatriot the AF pet i can focus pull up to 6 blues and take em down with relative ease solo as well im full mana
you can focus pull at lower lvls with underhill friend but it cant really take alot of dmg unless its buffed i usually get mobs to around 50% with Focus shield then drop a couple of pb bombs to finish em off. its all about effiency mate unlike necro chanters do run out of mana so you dont want to be wasting all your mana on 1 pull unless y ou got a friendly menta near by to pom you. look me up in game if u wanna chat easier than forums ![]() chipper 46 paladin (currently retired)

Might roll a Chanter then and keep an eye out for groups needing a Druid. Really wanna play a Hero or BM but with no money or friends I would just rage quit. On Mid people treat melees like kings and having 4 or 5 in a group was common. When I watch Hib streamers every group is Enc, Menta, Druid and anything passed that is just more of the same.

We re-rolled from mid in late January... I have to say one thing. It's as bad as you think it is. When you come from mid, leveling in hib is full blown aids. We lost 2 of us along the way. Including the guy who instigated the re-roll. He only made it to lvl 12.
1-17 is really frustrating. It gets significantly better from then on up until the late 30s. Since you are a druid you can probably get into some higher lvl groups that will plow through those lvls for u and then its Fins/Bog/DF for 40+. Prepare to focus pretty much everything. It is boring as hell and 10x less enjoyable than the typical tank and spank groups on mid. TL;DR: It only gets worse. Hib xp will destroy your spirit. Iradra - Sorc <we wuz kangz> Uthgard

3 months in and people still keep posting the same thing.... and quit because of it... This is not a bashing post, but please, do yourself a favour.... MAKE GROUPS, lfg/spamming /b ... is not the way to go, yes, you will get groups from time to time... But, nothing compares to you, yourself, making groups and going at the pace you want. msg people, msg the people, all the classes you need, spam everyone on the /who xx-xx range.... Dont know camps in hib, msg a 50 chanter, most likely he/she focus pulled pretty much every worthwhile camp up to 50, dont give up, even small man groups are awesome for xp.
Even melee groups are good, as long as you know how to control and what to do with them, and god, chanter focus groups, are really fast, if ppl know how to play. |

Unfortunately this is kinda how it is on Hib.
Many folks just aim for focus pulls rather than realizing that we need more tanks in RvR. You can still setup a tank group but needing a warden, bard, + tanks and ment/2nd bard can be a bit frustrating for some to pug. Most people hear about focus pull and just wanna do that even though lvl1-20 is faster xp for melee groups HANDS DOWN. In terms of your classes, making a druid, tank and a solo would be a good idea imo. You should be able to find groups for one of your classes or solo when you can't. If you keep the lvls staggered a bit, it should also allow you more grouping opportunities. Right now, many folks have lvl'd 30+ and many others don't want to alt because of the amount of xping required. That and being the lowest popped realm, especially during NA primetime, can absolutely make leveling a pain right now. I have my char sheet filled except 1 and ranging from lvl 50-1 and I still have hard times finding groups for any of my chars each night. Building groups and using the Hib discord is really the best bet other than finding a lvling guild in your timezone, when you play. As for solo classes, animists or mana enchanters are really your best bet. Although after the animist nerf, most dont bother and just use mana chanter since great for solo or groups. In any event, feel free to msg me on any of my chars and if Im not busy will def log on a close range player. <Blood Feud>

I think it is amusing that the devs disabled lfg chat ingame and the server had to use a 3rd party program to find groups.
Nothing like that good old classic daoc feeling when people are talking in voice chat about their job, their car, and politics. Very immersive. https://www.uthgard.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=37632
Players can greatly contribute to a server if you let them. Uthgard, still the best server. Thanks, Devs. |
