In addition to pullshroom leveling:

If you managed to kill a whole spot you can shroom up directly in the middle of the spot to keep control of it and kill respawn at once.

I play hib, I cant stand uncontrollable spampets that leech off of other ppl if not placed correct. Which is usually the case since animist is the most easymode class around, together with BD. Which I despise.

It's like WAR, everything is so easy to play, so what happens: everyone soloes and minds their own business, destroying the whole realm/MULTIplayer idea of the game.

This is why I cant stand animists, not because I can't 'handle' em.

Anyway, ..what Holz said. (massivmampfer)

You have no idea what you are talking about. Animists are not easy to level, unless you learn some hard lessons on how to play them. There are not many spots that are decent for shrooming. They die very easy when your pets refuse to hold aggro (???), because you pretty much have no defense at that point.

They also completely suck in RvR compared to other pet classes. Animists don't have moving pets that stun and beat you down like Alb classes (and I'm assuming you are an alb, since you didn't mention Necro's OR Thurgs)

Animists serve very little purpose in the overall game, and that is to farm gold and defend keeps. This makes whatever class you are playing much more easy mode than animists.

Also this game desperately needed classes that could solo and make decent coin, for times when you can't find a decent group. Animists overall are way more group friendly than any of the other farming classes out there.

Allright, I'm sorry but this is one last time off-topic; just look at my first 3 words in my former post and then compare it to what's between brackets in thedemoninside's 2nd paragraph... I don't mention Theurgs or Necros because it's a thread in the Hibernia section about Animists.

It's pretty clear that I don't have to comment further on statements like "animists are not easy to level" and "this game desperately needed classes that could solo and make decent coin".

Anyway, allthough I don't like to use macros to set my range, Blackcougar has indeed made a nice summary on how to place your shrooms and keep it under control.

sure, you can use your free mousecontrol to set them up too, i just found it easier to manage with a set of "basic quickaccess distances" to maintain a certain system and find what works well, since i started my animist when the shrooms had the "1 shot then stop" bug, which required some heavy strategic thinking to still make it work one way or the other.
i managed to get from 5 to 30 during that bugged phase and the macros helped a lot and still are of use for quick placement.

its a good way to messure and keep control of the distances.

im sure expierenced players will basicly set the groundtarget freely most times.
i only tend to do this in keep attacking/defending situations or to avoid obstacles while setting up in general.

get a barrek instantmana and a barral manaereg matching your level range,
then get MCL asap and after that serenity 3+.

unlike any other caster in game which starts to reg about 5 seconds after getting out of combat, your manareg wont start until 30 seconds after your shrooms ceased to attack.

thats why MCL should come first.

also, get your hands on as many tinderboxes as you can.
when they where introduced, they dropped quite nicely, about every 10-20 mins, enough to hold you up during leveling. but at one point in time someone apparently decided that they dropped too often (curse you for that, whoever you are^^).

now im very lucky if i get one every 4 hours.
max i had so far was 10 days without a single tinder.

my ani is 48 now (havent done any exping in a while, other chars more important) and went through 12 barrels instant mana and 8 barrels mana reg.

a lot of money, but you can farm it back.
and you save a lot of money on the healers.
