First i would suggest 2 things:
- Removing all useless comments (not in regard directly with the subject), particulary Esme's ones!
- Reopening it to let him continue his "job".

Now to Rector: If you could specify what you need exactly to make it new it would hepl all ppl interrested to give oyu a hand to make one that won't be erased from the post.

Also we could use here to communicate everyone progress on it.

Hmm the alternatives are the following:
1. take a database via Moras onlineupdate ("non-ToA") and modify it
Problem: Lots of items I have never seen (probably from SI), and the Items from classic do all have ToA stats.
-> unusable

2. Make a new database from scratch.
Implement all Items one by one: Impossibly much work
Implement only most important lvl 45+ items: This would still be about 500 items only for Midgard (I looked it up in my Metty-db). And some people would even like to have lower Items in it.
-> I wont do it, would be weeks of work.

3. Make donations to Metty, until he makes a new automatically generated up-to-date database or makes his old one "open-source" and free-for-all

4. Dont know? Try to get my modded underground Metty's DB that just works fine now ^^ (with maybe only some Items missing or wrong, but the most important are correctly in)

As we spoke with Esme the best thing would to be further.
2 or 3 persons per important zone (let's say 40+ for start) which made their DB for this zone and release it.

Then every week or when it's finished, all those DB are merged to make the main one.

What is needed:

- A place to communicate eg: Alliance forum, any guild forum, or eventually here.
- A list of players wishing to help with the work they do (progression etc).
