Hi Guys,

i wanna give it a new try and start in Midgard cause im really bored anyway.

Before leaving everything behind i wanna know what PL in Midgard.
And what about leveling in Common.

I dont wanna Level my Char "by Hand" cause with that 1.65 Feeling it is
just hurting =)

Does anyone got a good hint for me how to start in Midgard without taking hours to get 50 ?

What Kind of Char is really needed / good at 1.65 .. Melee based ?

What about ShadowBlades ? Do they find Groups ?

I probably would try to trade about 30pp to Midgard so i wouldnt Need a "Farmchar" like Bonedancer or sth. for a good start.

What would you do ?

Greetings

Trade your money to mid if you can.

With money? Make a healer or shaman and temp him/her.

Get in a large guild with large alliance.

Support toons can level faster particularly in bg zerg xp.

BTW, not wanting to invest 15 days /played to 50 is a legit concern.

My guild, like most guilds, will PL lowbie alts. We don't, however, typically invite realm hoppers to the guild.

There's no proper PL'ing in Midgard, you could join occasional BGs but they honestly aren't even that great, it depends if you're lucky enough to get in a good group or not (don't count on it). The best solution is to contact some big guilds and let them know that you're willing to pay a few plats to join their item / gold farming sessions. But no matter what, it'll take time.

I've never experienced being powerleveled on mid. As a a matter of fact, I have been told on more than one occasion, that certain guilds are not recruiting at all. And I had another guild in which i was told i had to be 35 before i could join and then when i joined there was a 10% guild tax.

Regardless, I didn't name any guilds in this thread and I'm not trying to tell anyone how to run their guilds, but the club is the club.

If you are a good old boy or good old girl, you're gonna get xp and gear and loving, but if ur new you not only won't know how to play but won't even be able to see the communication that goes on in these locked circles of guilds.

Never a truer word spoken. There are way too many elitists, still after 15 years.

Hmm,
I rarely seen any mids powerleveling and I ´m doing much pve in several zones. And These grps are mainly guild grps and I doubt they would invite any random low level,- no blame, we all have to suffer 1.65 leveling.
Generally Mids are friendly and helpful with buffs for example, but don ´t expect ppl PL you, if you don ´t have any reputation or friends/guild or anything to offer.

About these xp raids,- if you are below 40 don ´t even think about getting a social spot.

Support chars,- mainly pac healers are often wanted and needed in xp groups so it ´s probably a very good choice when you´re new.
Midgard has a skald and bd boom, as bds are not wanted in groups because they don ´t have much to offer,- skalds can solo and group very well.

Shadowblades , hunters are loners , most of them play together with shamans but I rarely seen them looking for groups, maybe cause it ´s known, that stealthers are more solists,- in pve and rvr.

Pretty sure it's not elitist to decline random scrubs a free ride. Doing PvE at 50 is not exactly the endgame goal in DAoC for most of us, and when I do it, I would rather help out friends and family, than randoms. Those of us in the first wave of 50's worked for it, I suggest you do the same :)
Just about done..

What's your defination of a new player? Someone who has never played DAoC ever? We invited a select few of those into our guild during beta.

Or do you mean someone who is new to Uthgard 2.0? We invited two of those to our guild this weekend. Of course, we knew them from years ago on live and in Uth 1.0.

Or do you mean someone who is new to FreeShard DAoC but knows the game from Live?

Pl would be nice but it is just not something that works for Mid; having 30 pp to trade is nice and from someone who so far has amassed a fortune of about 500 gold, i wonder if life is in fact easier on the "not easy realm".

and before anyone says well i got 100002 pp on mid; yeah i know i level slow and spend all my monies on crafting and alts :P
