Hi guys,
Just to have informations, is Savage (especially 2 handed) still nerf ? What is the min/max speed of weapon he can use ? Thx Vidmar/Raditz

Did savages get nerfed? Certainly didn't get any buff over the past two years. And they are not very common in RvR because charge is so completely and ridicously unbalanced for a server that has no bodyguard - so everyone plays zerks anyway.

l heared some troubles with weapon slower than 5.0 and impossible to hit someone who can parry/evade/shield in the past, that's l mean when l told nerfs. Just wanted to know if it's still the same problems

Yes, the svg still suffers from bugged defense penetration and that's why zerkers are preferred in groups.

Hi Vidmar, Here are a few answers to your questions: "l heared some troubles with weapon slower than 5.0" - Savages cannot use two-handed weapons slower than 5.5, the reason for this was never made clear by Mythic. The limitation was removed in a later patch (much, much later than the target patch level of this server). "impossible to hit someone who can parry/evade/shield" - This is partially true, I'll explain in detail: Hand-to-Hand: Despite wielding two weapons, you'll only ever hit with your main hand weapon when styling, what does this mean? It means that hand-to-hand is treated as a single weapon and thusly doesn't give any penalty to block, parry and/or evade. One-Handed Sword/Axe/Hammer: Same issue as hand-to-hand. Two-Handed Sword/Axe/Hammer: Two-handers are better at getting past parry but seem to do less damage than on live. A few notes I made playing my Savage here vs live: On Uthgard, using hand-to-hand weapons vs classes with shield spec; I may as well go AFK as I rarely land a hit (44+11+RRs hand-to-hand). I don't know how this compares to live as I didn't ever try hand-to-hand on live. Two-Handed weapons seem to do less damage on Uthgard than live. AoE melee weapon styles (hand-to-hand) on Uthgard do not work. Weapon skill seems to be too low for the Savage on Uthgard, this is likely just due to the defence penetration calculations being off rather than anything else. It's worth noting that by choosing two-handed + one-handed/shield over hand-to-hand will rob you of the dual/triple/quad hit potential you get only with hand-to-hand spec. |

What about stacking celerity and self-haste? Swinging 6+ speed weapons at cap seems like a good reason for nerf to me. |

Berserkers can already do something quite similiar, albeit slightly slower but with 100% crit rate, a load more defence penetration and no HP loss via self buffs. |

This is exactly what l wanted to know. l'm still asking if l will continu my troll savage, and 2 handed seems better than H2H if l understood well. Vidmar/Raditz

Hand-to-hand is still the best option over all, it gives you access to a 7 second side stun chain (the only decent stun available to the savage) and double/triple/quadruple hit chance. |

And : - you have a better WS : for savage, other weapon than H2H are on a lower damage table than H2H (lower than common hybrid). - you have access to 2 types of damage and can have bonus on chain from Hib and Alb Btw, H2H is a dual weapon spec and give malus on block/evade according to what i read on dol source. But not sure if Uthgard has the same mechanics on this point RIP : Ectoplasme

afaik there was already are a thread somewhere that h2h does not count as a dualwielder
and ofc missing charge just a dev can answer the first point, how it is in the code here on uthgard in my opinion a savage is somehow the same as a berserker, lower damagetier and lower hp but chance for triple or quad hits, self buffs. on live they added charge for savage also to balance savages more. |

No one survived to hear that answer or they wont never fix it? ![]() There was a time when Uthgard 1.0 existed and maaaany toons and arrpees arose... but now:

I think fixing the incomplete/broken classes (like savage and BD) probably falls behind SI implementation, RvR recode and various other issues. This is the reason I knocked my savage on the head and leveled my skald. |
