how big is the difference between a kobold warrior and a troll warrior in 50 group rvr ?

Is it a completely different play style or is the difference only small in reality?

Damagewise, Kobold is widely inferior to troll. But once Def. Penetration gets fixed (lol) Kobold will be alot better in guarding targets.

Thank you for the information. In a typical setup 8v8 group which one is more important (after the def. pen. fix): Dealing damage or protecting targets? Or is that heavily depending on group build?

Yes it does. And it also depends on what kind enemy group you will be fighting. But all in all i would say that defending your group is alot more important than dealing damage as Warrior. Then again, since Defense Penetration is as broken as it is, atm. Troll Warriors do a great job at guarding aswell. Lets hope for a quick fix (we can hope right?), so Troll isn´t the only viable choice anymore.

i dont understand why a troll warrior will block more atm (with broken WS)?
atm ur block chances are like the simple block formular. so a kobold has more dex = more blockchance / guarding ...
and if defense penetration is fixed, a kobi should also block better than a troll, but should hav more "problems" with breaking the defense of a victim.
if u wanna take the golden middle, make a norse

would go with troll/norse for the long term, currently kobolds are nice because block rates are rediculous, but if the mechanics ever get fixed, and potentially OF RAs, you will want the extra strength because you will no longer be a block bot...

its easy, the additional defense a kobold brings in doesn´t really matter atm. because even a troll blocks extremly well. Once the defense gets penetrated to some extend by the enemy, the kobold will shine over the troll when it comes to blocking because even though both get reduced, the kobold will stil block a LOT while troll will have a way harder time doing that. Until then, Troll is superior because it packs a lot more damage.

?!? you dont understand the block formular, do you?
the additional defense(dexterity nothing else) a kobold brings does matter 100%, so a kobold still blocks more NOW and LATER (weaponskill fix) what is the part of my sentence you misunderstood or overread?
on uthgard everyone blocks maximum what the hard formulars gave (kobi>norse>troll)

Well I'm a fan of firbolg / troll warrior. Imo block chance of a kobold isnt much higher, but damage of trollo is.
It's alot easier to assist an overextender in slam with trollo or firbolg + spec nuker than with kobi, and if the bm is dead overextended in a hib kite grp you basically already won.
Especially as a mid push grp you dont really need to block alot of hard assist trains, its more like 1-2 tanks on one target.

But at the end of the day you wanna have fun, hence I would roll the race you like most.

Your reading comprehension is really lacking isn´t it magicco? I just said, yes a kobold DOES block more then a troll, but even a troll blocks A LOT and really ENOUGH to do his duty as a blockbot atm.. So theres no point to get a Kobold for that, since a Troll will deal A LOT more damage. Once defense penetration gets in however, Troll will lack these extra % in blocking AFTER he got reduced that the Kobold has, which makes Kobold more viable then. Understood now?
