Can you please explain to me how wielding TWO WEAPONS, one in EACH hand, is not dual wielding. What exactly makes Berserkers a dual wield class and Savages arent? If Savages arent dual wielding then does that mean we are all supposed to use 2 handers?

Dual wielding classes are by default the ones who do cut down the block chance of a shieldclass(guard in most useful applications) by two.

Since, as far as I remember savages do not benefit from such a bonus and are easily blocked, they do not count as a dw class, but just as a class with huge dmg potential as long as the target is unguarded.

It might look like dual wielding to you(as it is), but thats not how it was programmed back in 1.65, which means thats not how its programmed here..

Dual wielding(zerkers) halving the defence of the opponent(block, parry etc.). This ability is NOT a part of a savage, which leads to people saying that savages are not dual wielding.. :hammer:

IF savages would have dw mechanics there wouldnt be any reason to play zerker whatsoever.
Savages rules anyway :hammer: :hammer: :hammer:

dont know about the Maulers, but stealthers count as Dual Wield as far they are using Dual Wield, Left Axe or Celtic Dual. But not if they use only one Weapon or two Handed.

So every class in the game that uses a weapon in each hand counts as dual wield except one class, Savages. How is that not a bug?

Short range, can't hit behind a shield. That would be the "lore" explanation I guess.

Anyway, they decided to not give H2H a bonus against shield. It's not an oversight. We call that a Dual Wield mechanics because back in the days all dual wielding classes benefited from it. And for some reason, they decided Savages didn't need that bonus.

dual wield classes are those that can specialise an offhand weapon.

unfortunately for savages the H2H skill only applies to the main hand, although you can use the main hand skill on both hands as it were. Because it is treated as a main hand weapon spec, they suffer from the same issues as other one hand weapon users, miue the ability to use a blocking shield.

Just think of savages as being able to spec main hand weapons for each hand.

Another point that determines their main handedness, is the multiple hits issue. A savage will only hit with the main hand 100% of the time (misses and fumbles excepting). A double hit is a proc that has a chance of landing based on the H2H spec. The same with triple and quad hits.

So a savage is a 1 handed warrior with 2 right hands :)

It is thing of game mechanics (feature). Also savage is not light tank, but hybrid (due selfbuffs)
