Most useful and needed class?

Hey all,
I have been playing on Albion for a few weeks now and now that I have reasonable money and experience with the game, I am curious as to what you guys all think is the most useful and needed class in Albion at the moment. What class is PvP and RvR do you need but often find yourself going without for one reason or another? I've been thinking of going Earth Theurgist and Cleric, but I am open to other suggestions! What I am primarily looking for is a class that is in high demand but is not played very much for one reason or another. -- Kenolil |

Both of your suggestions are spot on. I would place Cleric higher on the list since Theurgists, though high in demand, are not required for every group composition. Good Minstrels are in high demand, but mostly because they are relatively difficult to play on a basic level. If you are looking for a challenge, I might recommend that, but it is tough, and if you don't play it well you are mostly a glorified speedbot. All other classes meet their demand, more or less, IMO.

Minstrel, Sorc, Cleric ... most alb groups will want Minstrel speed, and if you're capable of twisting and are decent at interrupting you'll still find most groups will willingly take another Minstrel even if they already have one. Sorc's fall into the same category; no reason to not take another mezzing class that can also nuke/has a pet to interrupt. And every group needs 2 Clerics basically, so odds are in your favor there if there's a few groups running around you'll find a group on that class.
Don't touch the melee-hybrids, you'll just be wasting time (if you aren't already pre-slotted into a set group). Positivity - 4x Ranger
Paenon - 50 Friar (sleeping because it's non-Meta) Simi - 50 Necro (ditto, farmbot) |

I wouldn't put sorcs on the list. Ofc they are needed but there are so many. Rarely see someone lf sorc. Ofc im a sorc myself so might be a bit subjective.
I see missing minstrels/theurgs/clerics/armsman/caby most of the times. Fabienne - Blademaster
Junia - Bard Audrina - Ench ----- Zoe - Sorc Stella - Pala Devon - Scout |

Theurgist.

Thank you for all the suggestions! I will probably try a Minstrel since I think running super slow is a drag, but I've already started a Cleric and like it as well.

In my opinion play what you find most fun. If you play an arms because it has det, and don't enjoy it, and quit... you're not in RvR at all. I'd rather have someone playing a paladin or reaver with us that they enjoy playing, than an empty seat where you used to be but quit because you didn't enjoy your class.
In my opinion, every class can be and is viable in RvR. If you restrict how many people you want to run with, the usefulness of certain classes will outweigh others and limit options of group compositions. This is the case with all realms. My opinions below are stated in terms of my gameplay style, which is not restricting how many people I run with. So take that into consideration when reading it. That being said, of all classes, the most needed imo is clerics. Then sorcs. Then theurgs. Then take your pick. For clerics we either have: none, not enough, and sometimes just enough. A few times we had.. "too many" (is that a thing?) None you literally cannot do anything. You sit, and wait for one. They are the absolute core of a group and optimally you want 2 in each group. If you have a few, you have power groups running one, and groups with less firepower running none. If you're lucky you have one in each group. This loses fights more than anything imo. There is not enough conc for buffs for 1 cleric, and the healing duties are too much to ask of them. If we do manage to get 2 in each group, well... buckle up and enjoy the night. We're making some RPs. For sorcs we either have: none, or a few. The problems with this are: none is suicide. A few creates a situation where all your eggs are in a few baskets with an ability that literally changes the outcome of entire battles. If these few are killed/oop/afk/rupted/ns'ed/mezzed/stunned/etc we're back at the first problem. Sorcs are also, contrary to how much of a snorefest they can be in pve, are a very high skill ceiling class imo and require a lot of knowledge of Alb classes (who to demez/etc) and even moreso of the enemy realms classes, and need great positioning in rvr. For theurgs we either have: none, or a few, sometimes enough for each group. These seem underplayed in general in RvR by Alb. Even though they rupt incredibly well, pbt, nuke, mez, buff, etc. They're just a swiss army knife in RvR and great to have around. They boost everyone around them considerably when played well. This may also be why they seem more rare in RvR, as I know some people with theurgs that will log onto their cleric/sorc or other core classes that are needed to get a group(s) up and running or to some type of workable state. |

Thanks, Splitquick! I appreciate that response as I know you run the type of RvR I was used to on live and are aware of what is generally happening in RvR during the times I play. I still think that eventually I will level my Minstrel and maybe a Theurgist, but I will put a lot more emphasis on my Cleric. I also think I managed to convince a friend of mine I've been playing with to roll a Sorcerer with me, so bonus.

Splitquick nailed it. Play what u like and what is fun for u.
I starten uth2 on Hib because i like offtank and imho BM is great, but i was used to charge3 from uth1 and here is no Charge. So i realized no real fun. I remembered other Chars i had and reaver was one of the Most fun. So i Rolled a reaver and yeah its fun. So Player what u want and get the fun u Expect ☺ Uth1: Tuennes HO Merc 8Lx <Nightwatch>, Frendir Dwarf Zerker 6Lx <Svalbard Ravens>

Never seem to have enough Clerics. They're a fairly common class overall, but every group prefers having two of them so they'd need something rivaling Necromancer popularity in order to routinely have enough Clerics for all groups. In addition many Clerics are alts of people who'd rather be (and often are) playing something else. The healing/buffing situation is hurt worse due to the relative rarity of Friars. Quite often the wife's Cabalist has to help out with the healing role (via health transfer spell--not ideal!) due to the frequent healer-class shortage.
If you make a Theurgist most folks will seemingly want you mostly for runspeed (when a Minstrel can't be found) or pulsed bladeturn. Good enough reasons to pick a class, but probably want be sure both are incorporated into a final level 50 build. None of the melee types seem to be in any uniquely large demand, although I barely ever see Reavers and people sometimes wish we had a few of them for interrupts. |

Sorc / minstrel for sure. As a templated , level 50 cleric i have issues finding 8v8 or small man groups.

Cleric has the best chance to find a group.
There are already too much theurgists. The sorc and mins are classes, you have to now how to play them very good to be valuable for groups. With a cleri - lot of groups are happy with any cleri, even if he is a total noob. |
