well... I dont have a scout here, but I would probably go for 50 bow 42 shield 35 or so stealth, rest in weapon. Some spec only melee for leveling and leave bow on autotrain, that gives 77 extra spec points in the end, but you miss out on BG sniping action.

You can try out various specs here http://daoc2.catacombs.com/cbuilder2.cfm?Scout

here we go:

SPEC´s (all based on a RR5 toon)

common spec´s:
45 bow, 42 shield, 35 stealth, rest weapon
45 bow, 50 shield, 35 stealth, rest weapon
50 bow, 42 shield, 35 stealth, rest weapon
50 bow, 35 stealth, rest shield (this spec relay on shield-styles only for combat)

uncommon:
50 weapon, 42 shield, 35 stealth, rest bow

it might be hard but DO AUTOTRAIN at all costs...i curse myself every time i respec for the missing points because i did not AT.

------------------------------------

ARMOUR:

helms:
.) studded cap of the hunt (taj2-questitem, good look, nice bonus, but only level 50 item)

vests:
.) adamant barricade (taj2-item from ''the hungry one'', GOOD bonus, nice proc, RARE!)
.) diamond spiked vest (dragon drop, common, GOOD bonus, nice proc)
.) runic giant-bone vest (a MP-drop but without a proc, good bonus, good for a level-temp)

arms:
.) runic giant-bone arms (DM-drop, HEAL-proc, acceptable bonus)

gloves:
.) Shimmering Flawless Gauntlets of Nightfire (noce bonus for a level-temp)

pants:
there is no pant available that i would call a ''must have'', get a crafted one

boots:
there is no pant available that i would call a ''must have'', get a crafted one

but as final temp you need a MP-set (with either the dragon- or taj2-vest) to cap your stats/resis.

---------------------------------------

JEWELERY:

Necklace:
.) Exquisite Infernal Black Diamond Necklace (standart-necklace, cheap and easy to get)

cloak:
.) CoE (Cloak of Earth, Moran the Mighty drop)
.) Icy Glacier Skin (glacier giant in odins gate)
.) Megalodon's Hide Cloak*

gem:
.) tear of tajendi (taj2-endbossdrop, RARE!, EXPENSIVE!!)
.) Gem of Spirit Abhorrent (standart Gem, cheap and easy to get)
.) Frenzied Shark Tooth*

rings:
.) runic granit ring (moran the mighty)
.) RotG (Ring of the Granit, Moran the mighty, Health Reg. charge)
.) Director's Ring of Anarchy (bad bonus but a Must-have because of its charge, not for template..just switch in and charge, than switch back to template ring)
.) Director's Ring of Bedlam (bad bonus but a Must-have because of its charge, not for template..just switch in and charge, than switch back to template ring)
.) Shark's Eye Ring*

bracer:
.) gatekeeper bracer of chaos (gatekeeper dommel, DF, RARE!)
.) bracer of churiel (taj2-endbossdrop, SUPERRARE!, EXPENSIVE!!)
.) Worked Wormhide Wrap (beliathan, DF)
.) Wormskin Wrap (beliathan, DF)
.) Frenzied Sharkblood Bracer*

belt:
Superior Accursed Belt of Might (standart-belt, cheap and easy to get)
Blood Mist Belt*

*...all items marked with a star were originally from megalodon in the irish sea. since uthgard once had NF and access to megalodon staff decided to split his loot to the 3 OF encounters (evern, green knight, glacier giant)

------------------------------------------

WEAPON´s:

bows:
.) Heart of the North (dragon bow)
.) defillers aim (taj2 bow, the hungry one)
.) bow of the pretator (taj1 bow, pretatory fish, SUPERRARE!!)
.) basalt bow of bedlam (DF-prince-drop, the slowest bow in game)

shields:
.) basalt buckler of chaos (nice skin, acceptable bonus)
.) dragonscale buckler (Great bonus but that bonus makes it hard to switch to bow, so not the best temp-choice)

thrust:
.) ornamented temple rapier (taj2-templebossdrop)
.) wind whisperer (penn, DM, nice for non-templated player with level 47 or higher, lifetap-proc)
.) Brilliant Stiletto of Soulshade (prince ba´alorien, DF, acceptable bonus, Bladeturn-proc, sadly low quali and only level 48 item)

slash:
.) basalt sword of anarchie
.) basalt sword of oblivion
.) archaic granite longsword (Legil, DM, nice for non-templated player with level 47 or higher, lifetap-proc)
.) runic granit blade (legil, DM, nice for non-templated player with level 47 or higher, lifetap-proc)

of course you can replace all the drops i´ve listed with crafted items too.
on level 50 when you are going to plan a template...you must use a MP-set and excelent jewelery to get all stats/resis capped.

all the best for your scout career...it wont be the easiest toon..but if you like a challenge than its the very best choice.

greetings
Lady snowdonia
(aka albions GT-General)

ps.: i´ve marked the items i use in my template in green

Yes, but probably not full AT. How much points you will gain depends on how much longbow spec you have right now.

AT means your longbow gets skilled for free every 4 levels, if it fits the requirement for AT.

at lvl 8 it gets skilled from 1 to 2
at lvl 12 it gets skilled from 2 to 3
at lvl 16 it gets skilled from 3 to 4
at lvl 20 it gets skilled from 4 to 5
[...]
at lvl 44 it gets skilled from 10 to 11
at lvl 48 it gets skilled from 11 to 12

That means if you have 10 longbow right now, you would get your first free skillpoint at level 44 when it gets skilled from 10 to 11.

However you can use your respec at level 20 to continue AT from there, if you respec longbow at level 20, it will be set to the AT spec of 5 using your regular skill points. At level 24 you would gain your first free skill points when you get longbow AT from 5 to 6.

True

Personally I would reroll

1-5 is easy
and 5-10 isn't that hard either in the big picture
