Don't you need a subskill for damage even for polearm.. i.e. slash leveled along with polearm? I never used a 2hander as I always assumed it was "broke" so I'm highly curious

I believe specinig into your subskill closes your damage variance gap, similar to what specing into a Spell-Line does for Baseline spells. You just need to have at least composite 38 Slash/Crush/Thrust (Whatever you're using) to benefit from the 10% ToHit bonus. "It's not fair unless I'm winning!"
