Don't delete your friar.
Friars aren't useless, they are good for resistances, healing (yes, there are ppl that speec friar enh/heal... not me :p) and nice dd. Imho u must specc ur friar as: 1) 39, 24, 47, rest 2) 35 heal, 47 ehm, 2x (don't remember) staff, rest (4 or 5 parry) |
|
Friar can work in pvm [anything can work in pvm], but its really weak in rvr, especially in group rvr - despite resists I consider it to be a low utility class it doesn't really do much of anything. Can't heal like a cleric, bad rupter, bad damage, resists and extra buff unecessary - pala can twist if necessary.

welllllllll
dont spec points to heal. u cant heal, accept it ![]() dont go 44 staff, its rly not worth the points hmhm high ench... if u like that red heat resist specc it, i prefer only 45 for dexqui so u r uo for a good solo specc. for grp rvr better raise a 2nd char^^ ofc there are some interesting speccs for grg rvr like that grp hot buffs, but its still low utillity :p friars are also rly strong in duo with a tank. ~Sinalco~

I made a dmgtest :::friar unbuffed: 10x sidehits with 29+14 staff: dmg of all 10 hits / 10 = 146.1dmg (Weaponskill 920)
10x sidehits with 39+14 staff: dmg of all 10 hits / 10 = 155.1 dmg (weaponskill 981) 100% = 146.1 1% = 1.461 ? = 155.1 / 1.461 -> 106.16% -> 6.16% more dmg with 39 staff than with 29 And now by the way: 10x sidehits 44+14 staff: dmg of all 10 hits / 10 = 178.3 dmg (Weaponskill 1011) 10x sidehits 50+14 staff: dmg of all 10 hits / 10 = 189.2 dmg (Weaponskill 1048) Thats interesting because the difference between 39-50 is much higher than 29-39 (all same style : sidestyle) |

Staff's duration was kept constant during the test?
You did not use two different staffs with two different swing speed values? Value of quickness was kept constant during the test? Did you take into account that rising the weapon spec rises your base damage as well as your styles' growth rate? Last edited by Der_Eisbaer on Dec 29, 2009 18:38, edited 1 time in total.

I think it's the amount of hits. 10 hits aren't representative for a good comparison.
Uthgard till 2003!

Same char, stats, weapon, ... I got help from a gm.
More than 10 would be better right but if we have a look on all specc-tests it seems ok. More weaponskill more dmg. My spec will be: 39 staff, 7 rej, 45 en, 25 parry |
|
I'm pretty sure when you're leveling you keep enh 1 or 2 levels below your level with the rest in staff and you should be pretty good. Keep it up all the way till you get your final enh spec then dump the rest in to other crap like rejuv and parry that got neglected for 48 levels.
|
|
i like to get the 7 reju first, so you can heal disease and dots in rvr
