Visi Scout?

I'd played around with it briefly on live, both before and after the style changes, but im curious if it can be done here on Uthgard.
Id be looking at visi scout for grouped RvR. Primarily for long range interupts/dps, peels, and guard. The major drawbacks im worried about here are: 1) No TOA means a much weaker template, and no FZ/PS to deal with charge tanks. 2) A ton more zerkers and other DW tanks here means that if they turn off the support to kill the guard tank, they can 3 round a scout. 3) no cure nearsight eliminates a mojor factor of the visi scout (long range dps/interupts) -------------------- Still, some part of me really wants to try it. probably somethign like: 44 thrust 42 shield 47 bow 8 stealth. or i could go as a visi/stealth "hybrid" and give up a ton of bow to get some stealth. stopping at either 40 bow/25 stealth, or going all the way to: 44 thrust 42 shield 35 bow 32 stealth ----------------------------- maybe im just trying to come up with an excuse to not have to level two toons to 50 and still be able to play with the guilds visis or sneaks, but part of me is just curous if its viable. I love the niche specs so logn as they actually serve a niche. if they just suck then its not wirth the time. |

good luck if you realy going to plan to play a scout as group char...i am now 6 years around...and scouts treated like plaqued ppl here the hole time i am around..
about your 1.) ToA or not..doesnt matter...you can all-cap your temp here too..i have one..just a matter of patience for farming is required..and gold^^ to your 2.) true..but they cant kill a scout in 3 rounds if the scout is good equipped and has the right RA´s..with the uthgard patchsetting is the class that is the most difficult to kill..PD4+ will be the best friend of you if you realy wana play group only. no tank will try to hit you more than 2 hits when he see your absorb^^ (personal experience) cause there are much weaker targets...even a plate-tank is easier ![]() to your 3.) thats true...but if you have bow high enough you can use volley (not affected from nearsight) if you are rooted + nearsighted.. if you have nearsight alone you can go melee.. i would personaly not recommend the low stealth spec version you´ve listed...but in the end you have to find the spec you like..if thats the one..enjoy it. sidenote..since shield is 100% dex-based damage..you might use it as mainweapon (endupots are a must for that). i miss my Lady....

Would a group Scout have to trade PD for Det?

Would a scout get a group ? is the question you're looking for

On my Hunter I can lock down 2-3 casters at once with Rapid Fire + my pet. None of the pro groups will take an archer seriously, but archers can bring utility + spike damage to a PUG that needs to fill a slot. A Scout can 'rupt or even spike from the back, and remain close to his own casters for Slam duty.

Retarded casters then if they get rupted by a slow blue pet ^^ either way if you want long range rupt with a pet, peeling ability and damage better off taking a cabalist.

well, i often hear that i am a better Def-tank with my scout than many pala´s or armsi^^ might have to do something with my RA´s..and skill MoB4, Det4, PD4, MoS3, LW1, FE1, Dex1 And to complete my def..Shield 50 and you are so true...with rapid fire you can keep up to 3 caster bussy alone.. that factum more and more ppl realize... and (rarely but it happens) i get a slot in socalled pro-groups when they need manpower. many will scream...a scout in visible FG...DAMN MoS-Bit**...but hey..with MoS3 i am no MoS-bit**..if i still find you you should re-think your own stealth^^. actually my MoS is to prevent my supportes from adding stealthers (befor they can hit with PA or BS). and its working good. i miss my Lady....

It is what it is. I've gotten enough /rude spam from Druids to know that my pet is worth something. If my pet can keep the healer rupted while I spam interrupts on the casters then it has more than earned its place. The Scout is even better in a group. The utility of a slam-bot that can also 'rupt better than any tank shouldn't be ignored. If you need to fill that last slot, then why not? Take the Scout.

Mind you it's a whole different perspective when grouped. I'm sure it's easy to rupt when adding from a flank. Rupting better than any tank ? Well I don't know about that, all it takes is one step back to be out of range.

I'm not talking about adding. I enjoy grouping my Hunter during the early hours when it's all PUGs with inefficient builds. A Hunter that learns how to use his pet, when to Rapid Fire, and when to Critshot can be competitive in a group. Stealth can be useful in a group fight, since most players don't expect their target to vanish in front of them.
Of course none of this matters against guild groups with their perfect setups.
A Scout's bow has 2200 range. You'll have to take more than a step back. My point is that while the Hero or Warrior is stuck to the support with his thumb up his butt, a Scout can be rupting with Rapid Fire or assisting with Crit Shot. A scout can be standing rooted for 1 minute or nearsighted for 1.5 minutes.

I'd like to see a slambot without endurance. Well LW5 and pots are always an option ^^

Yeah, it'd be silly to swap a Pally for a Scout in any case.
