Fun PvE duo?

A buddy and I are moving to alb since we've never played the realm, and would like a duo to play together that is effective / fun. We've played mid and hib extensively in the past, and are just looking to explore the realm and pve. Nothing serious, likely won't take this to the RvR game so hybrids and what not are game on.
What would be a fun duo to explore and play around with, leveling together? If money matters, we have plat to bring over. |

For just PvE you have a lot of great options for Alb. Are you only planning on duoing? How efficiently do you want to farm? Is this for DF, powerleveling, or anything? Paladin/Friar is a fun one my buddy and I did a long time ago. buffs, end, heals, great defenses, and two rezzers if something goes south. Great on their own or as an addition to mdps DM/DF/Barfog groups. Necro/Cleric will level and farm the fastest. Maybe Necro/Necro. Necro/Theurg too. Sight Necro+Any caster would be pretty fast. Matter Cab+Cleric is good for focus pulling, and at 41-50 u can stack up the whole pygmy camp with a buffed pet and ae dot to 50. This duo can farm some bosses that drop valuable loot too. Paladin/Reaver would be a fun combo. At 42 with slam and endo you'll be chaining ojs nonstop. |

Paladin Reaver is one of my favourite duos
Both shields on guard, Paladin tanking, reaver knocking off positionals with endu regen. Nonstop OJ's or reds starting at about level 18 when the Reaver gets indigosnake. Great duo for exploring dungeons and very durable - no direct heals but between chant/lifetap styles it's very effective. |

Okay that's two votes for paladin/reaver, maybe we will check that out.
Sounds like necro + anything is really strong? Any other favorites people have?? Thank you! |

Hey,
my friend and me are playing 2 necros. It is really strong and effective but personally I dont think a necro is a good choice if your primary goal is having fun. We just do it to min/max our alts (autotrain) in the future. So I would strongly recommend another char than a necro, but thats just my opinion. Back in the days we started with arms and pala, was really cool and had a lot of fun, but with the experience from the past would vote for pala and arawn (arawn wasnt available back in the days ![]() With pala and arawn you probably can easily clean mile gates. ![]() |

We may have another friend interested, what would be a good third class to add to the pal reaver?
What about the necro caster set up? |
|
3rd class you'd probably want a friar, cleric, or maybe sorc/minst for CC, or theurg for haste/da/pbt/roots. sight necro is gonna be a mana battery to keep ppl over 50, so it's good with about any caster. cleric or minst could stun before mobs reach the necro, ice theurg is most efficient use of power, fire wiz double bolting with a mana battery sounds fun. sorc could stop at yellow or blue pom to help power even more and nuke/cc. like I said lots of strong options |

Before Uth 1.0 shut down I was rolling a trio Pally/Reaver/Friar with my brothers - felt like nothing was wasted because we could all attack but having a Friar to pull away and start healing was handy.
As a PvE exploring trio it was a lot of fun, especially when deciding who gets gear drops since we're all wearing different stuff |
|
Pala/Reaver/Fiar or Nec/Nec/Cleri - first more fun, later the pinacle of any pve Trio
Ololofeld - BD - Lyo/Mid

for pve 3 chars, if you just want to explore the pve realm?
3 necros. You can solo a necro to places in epic zone and df that any other 3 classes will not be able to go as easily or quickly, hands down. with 3 necros you can go anywhere and just crush stuff. you could with a tank/healer/dps or a focus trio but won't mow them down nearly as fast as 3 necros and there are spots respawn could be tough. is it fun hitting the same 2 buttons over and over? meh,. not really. but thats any class, you do the same thing over and over and over, just less buttons here and way more kills. |

I think the most fun duo (and still highly effective!) is Paladin and Minstrel. Here are the main reasons, IMO.
-Between sprinting with the endurance chant, and song speed, you'll be the fastest duo there is. Great for exploring the realm! -The Minstrel can charm all sorts of healing and buffing pets, to replace the need for a Cleric or Friar. -Both classes are very fun to play, but keep in mind they both must twist to reach their greatest potential (Some may consider that a negative). -At first glance neither of these classes look like they do a high amount of damage (though they do enough!), but you can also have fun seeing how high level of a pet the Minstrel can charm, and essentially PL yourself with a purple mob ![]() I think you'll have fun playing most of the other duos suggested here (Necros are powerful, and level fast, but IMO they are quite boring), but I think Minst/Pally will solve a lot of headaches you might face down the line. Vanilla DAoC is hard, and takes a long time, but I think the duo I've suggested has a lot of QOL features, and will surprise you with its quirky and fun gameplay. As an added bonus, it'll be super easy to get into a full group with this duo! Paladin provides chants, tanking, and melee dps, while the Minst pulls and CCs. |

lots of options here. some that come to mind for RvR:
minst + friar minst + reaver sorc + cleric minst + cleric retired
|
|
They wanna explore, they wanna go into dungeons, what's more epic than a Melee combo to slay those evil Monsters!
If you wanna have fun go for the Pala / Reaver Duo. If you have a third person, add it a minstrel. Minst will provide cc, and more important add a pet, there are plenty of Healing pets, and this for almost all level range while u level up. Friar might be a good choice also but i'd chose a minstrel. |
