So how often are Random 8mans put together on this server, and do elitist 8 mans prefer logging off rather than grouping with Randoms?
Midgard has been boring as hell trying to find a group everyday, was curious if Albion is any better would love to reroll here.

Guess it depends on time zone and class. I can not speak for EU as I don't group much during euro. During NA I have been apart of many pugs. But I also play a sorc. I have even been apart of pugs with classes like wizards, though he actually played it well. You will get your days where some will log out over running randoms they don't know, but for NA we lack a good amount of classes on alb so NA isn't as picky.

Mincers who can twist a pet and tanks are needed badly on Alb.

Also, if you join a guild group as a sub don't get butthurt if you get bumped when a guilty logs on. So many people do but this gives you a chance to meet some people with like minded goals.

I can say that currently for NA Albion the current status quo seems to be WPFK Alliance running battlegroups for zerg/objective play and Primordial Alliance generally making up a sizeable portion of the PuG/8v8 population. They tend to twist and merge because we end up in the same frontier land and bump shoulders.

We've got plenty of opportunities for NA pugs.

We need tanks - Mercs/Arms mainly.

We need good Sorcs - we've got a few, but it's better two have two than none, or one that can't quite land that Mez.

Clerics never hurt, but we usually have that covered.

Minstrels we seem to have enough of at times, but at others we can't find any.

What we need most of all is people with templates who pan, carry pots, pay attention, and play their class well - if you can do all of the above, I'm not sure it matters terribly what class you are (a few exceptions of course).

I love the optimism above, but let me give you the hard truth...

if random pugs are your goal, do not choose albion. you can count viable "pug" setups in alb on one hand given their classes. the successful "pugs" here are groups of 8 man players from a few specific guilds that play together often. aka, they are 8-mans with different cloaks.

alb doesn't afford much room for a casual groups. and yes "elitists" will log rather than pug is some instances lol

Sounds accurate, alb has always had the worst pugs due to all the classes you need to create a balance... and most of the 8 mans would rather log, go on an alt or just sit afk in border keep than pug

I tend to disagree with this but perhaps I am different. I've been in many pugs (from with body cabs to fire wizards to Reavers), built pugs, have pugged randoms, and seen all sorts of pugs (yesterday there was a pug out with four wizards). Do they have success always, no but I bet they are enjoying themselves. Have I or others rage logged sure. As stated I am NA time and most the time the people who would log, or known as more elitest, are often the ones who reject invites and are easy to pick out.

Sounds like its the same crap as mid lol.
Probably better to just call it quits instead of trying to reroll.

Didn't think the elitest 8man would be such a big deal, but looks like it'll slowly dwindle down the people that want to 8man rvr.

Mid is the "easiest" to pug, so if you are struggling there I can't imagine its any better elsewhere. I know that hib was not good for puging unless you have a good core to carry the randoms, but then its not really a pug.

^^^fixed

speaking in terms of this server and the people on it... not theoretical paper daoc

at this patch level everybody spams power pots, except albs who spam endo pots

hibs don't typically run with pom (unless they enjoy 7v8) so they kinda do need to spam power pots fyi

Played there for the first ~4 months of server release, not a good environment for puging. This is obviously slightly skewed now that they've been dominating relics for the last 3-4 weeks.
