Hi,

I am looking for a bit of help with my Saracen thrust Mercenary, currently I have a 3.9 Rapier and I am looking for a the best weapon speed to accompany this. I have checked out weapon calculators and have come to conclusion that a 2.2 Dirk would be best to hit the 1.5 cap.

I would be fine with this, but someone recently told me that the coding for dual wield is a little off and that some weapon speeds complement some combinations more than others, but couldn't elaborate more on this theory.

I was wondering if anyone could enlighten me on the perceived best weapon swing speeds for thrust mercs?

Many thanks,

I think it's always been slow mainhand, fast offhand. On my Slash Merc I use 4.3 mainhand and 2.6 offhand. 8)

The group that runs up against them can't kill them fast enough because smite clerics have sooooooo many tools at their disposal combined with decent ranged damage with 8 of them dudes doing it!

I have 4.3 2.8 on slash merc and 3.4 3.4 on BM. I don't think it matters a ton to be honest as long as you aren't like 4.3 4.0 or something.
There will be a group of people out there who will want this realm to be entirely Mythic-like. Exactly like vanilla, drop rates/xp rates, basically everything and you will not be able to please them unless it is exactly like vanilla.

These people have their nostalgia goggles on so tight it's cutting off the bloodflow to their brain and they believe that vanilla was perfect and nothing was wrong with it.

There is an advantage to having a slower main hand and a faster offhand, as there is a haste effect that occurs when both your weapons swing (double hit) when you perform a style, essentially the system takes the speed of both your weapons and takes the average as your swing speed, causing a haste effect. (I would get a slower main hand on your BM)

I guess even if the coding was slightly bugged, it wouldn't make a massive difference, probably talking about a 0.05 haste effect on a slightly slower weps and thats only on double hits. I'll just stick with aiming for cap speed then.
