I hope it's ok to post about our guild in this part of the forum. If not please move / remove!

I want to say hello to everyone and to extend a welcome to anyone who feels they'd really fit in well with us, new starters or Uthgard vets alike.

Griffon Knight was originally formed as a DAoC guild on the Prydwen EU server in 2001 and was amongst the largest and most active guilds on the server for several years. As time progressed, the original game became less popular and people moved on to pastures new. Many other games have seen the passing presence of a GK guild (although not always under the same banner), as well as the classic DAoC servers and Ywain.

We've recently discovered Uthgard and started a Griffon Knight guild on Albion.

There are quite a few of us playing - 19 at the last count - but we have families and jobs, university and college, so the numbers online is quite variable. EU prime time tends to be the busiest, but we do have some members from the US as well.

Essentially we're a bunch of friends - old and new - enjoying the game together. We've always prided ourselves on having a casual-friendly, supportive atmosphere, where having fun and good company is more important than being the best. But we've typically found that because we work well as a team, and look out for each other, we do achieve a lot.
We've got together enough cash for the emblem, and started some crafters to get members kitted out, and we'll see where we go from here .

Some new members have already joined us since we started on Uthgard, and we've made an alliance with another small guild that we've become friends with. We're not on a very active recruitment campaign - we'd rather grow slowly and get to know our new members. On the other hand, if you're looking for a guild where people look out for each other, and a sensible level of behaviour is expected, but rarely has to be enforced, because the members are those sorts of people anyway, and if you want to play with people who can have a laugh and mess around, but still work together to get the job done, then give us a shout. If we can help a few newbies find their feet, or offer a place by the fire to an old timer, then we'll be happy . Just do a search for any Griffon Knight online.

my name is Thorwyn / Sereish, I used to play on Server Excalibur from day 1. I formed and lead <Blade&Quill> until the day the server died. We might have met before on Freddyshouse Forums.
I recently discovered Uthgard and rolled a couple of chars here, despite the fact that my online time is quite limited, which makes me a casual gamer these days. Now, I'm looking for a nice place to have a relaxed chat with some mature people and maybe participate in guild groups or other guild related activities. Your guild description pretty much meets my expectations. So if you are interested in giving an old DAOCer a home, feel free to send me a /tell online. My chars are Sereish (31 Theurg), Dissipate (20 Infiltrator) or Xajorkith (little Minstrel). I'll gladly roll any char the guild needs though.

Hi Thorwyn, the guild is growing quite nicely at the moment, and we'll be glad to send you an invite. I've seen Dissipate around a few times near Prydwen Bridge, I'm sure .

Asking other players for money is absolutely against guild rules. Apart from anything else, its not needed as we support each other.

I can guarantee it was not one of our original members, but we have recruited a few new people since we started here who are still on probation.

Please PM me either here on the forums or in game so I can address this problem. Our guild has always had an excellent reputation and I don't want that spoiled by a bad apple.

haha I remember seeing u guys ( I played on pryd-eu as well, armsman named Rub; I didn't play that much though cause I was quite young back then )

I'll give you guys a shout when Im next in game. I only recently started playing on Uthgard and would be interested in joining a guild like yours.

I was mostly Excalibur based back in the old days and for quite a long time either helped run Ferus Legionis and in later days joined Covenant of Zak.

I've created a Theurge so far but am only about level 7 ish but plan to focus on getting it to level 50 first then will move onto a few alts

To give a quick update:

Now that we're more established, we're actively recruiting .

We have active forums and Facebook community, lively chat, guild groups, guild house and guild lgm crafters. On the PvE side we've been active in the depths of DF at high lords and princes, and had guild killing sprees in Barfog and Dartmoor, and we're building up strength for dragon raids, Green knight and all the rest of DF . On the RvR side, we have big plans for keep warfare, and general mayhem . Braemar, Wilton and Thid will continue to be fun as well .

Our active members come from many places - we're still fairly biased towards EU but we have a good core of US players, and a lot of EU players that like to stay up all night .

If you're a returner from the old EU servers, you'll probably recognise some names in the guild, and its good to see lots back from there, but everyone is welcome wherever they come from or if they are new to DAoC all together
