Hi all,

I’m a long term DAOC player recently joined Uthgard so hello to you all !

I want to start the ball rolling for an open social guild, I understand we have clan cotswold but I would prefer we had a nice big social guild for guys to get grouping and helping each other out, I want to try and have large groups formed around the cammy area at first to help everyone get a good clean start to the game it seems to suffer from "new player syndrome" where by a lot are either confused or simply put off by the brutality of the first 20 levels ( yeah i know it only gets harder but let’s keep that quiet for now :) ).

I would like to have new and old players alike and obviously crafters to help support the guys with gear when the lvl 10 stuff starts wearing out ( a crafting bank will also be set-up to support anyone wanting to craft) , it’s a big ask I know but I’ve taken soo much from people in the past in hand outs and help in various MMOs so I would like to try and give something back.

If anyone is interested then PM me on here or e-mail me on herojuana182@gmail.com, or message me in game on my new toon "thedecline".

Thanks for reading

Dan

At least four months ago, when I started on Uthgard, Clan Cotsworld was just like that you describe for your new guild. There was one guy who owned a house(worship!), which was used as a "guild house" for Clan Cotsworld, where Players could deposit their worn stuff and get new ones to xp - dunno, what happened to this guy.

As one of my crafters is still in Clan Cotsworld, I see that new players are helped fast and friendly by others, concerning questions about game, quests and specs...

Even if Clan Cotsworld isnt working that way any more, you ll have a hard time to copy something like that - you will be lacking player base.

For instance, our guild has almost 60 members with 240 chars alltogether - and its still hard to get dedicated xp groups with guild only chars, as people play at different times, or like to craft, or pvp or or toons are on different level, or whatelse... you d need a massive player base to build xp groups for needed levels constantly.

I fully understand how hard it will be to try and run/set-up something like this but I’m still prepared to try.

Also that guy who tried with clan Cotswold that’s a real shame if he did disappear or no longer plays, but I guess that supports all the more reason that it needs to be a dedicated guild so it can be lead by more than one person.

Also being part of a "proper" ( i use that term very loosely ) guild means you have input on its direction and there is a bit more loyalty involved I guess.

Good luck on your plan!

But... Uthgard, and that means every single realm, really has too much guilds...
