Hello Uthgard!

I am currently grinding a thrust/shield armsman and have a few questions about this toon...

1. What is the armsman version of the level 50 thrust style? (if any)

Before answering, note that the off-evade chain in thrust is off-parry for armsman on uthgard. There IS good reason for me to believe that the level 50 style has also been changed for the armsman but I am looking for confirmation of this (or confirmation that it has NOT been changed), and more importantly, if it has been changed, what the conditions and effects of that style are.

2. If I respec out of thrust at or before level 47, then ding 48, will I receive 12 levels of AT in thrust?

3. A google search for information regarding the crossbow skill leads me to believe that even muttering 'crossbow' could result in the death of many innocent kittens or something, but I am wondering if there has been any testing for the mechanics of Xbow on Uth. I am trying to get a feel for what sort of damage it could do against realistic pve and rvr targets.

-----------

I appreciate any help on the matters above.

Regards,
Eric

2. If you didn't AT till 47 no. You will see that your thrust becomes lvl 11 (if you are rr1) but that's not the extra points, just the points you already have goes to thrust automaticly. To make it clear, if you don't train slash and thrust you get 154 extra points that goes to them(77+77). If you train any of them but not planning to use them in your final spec you don't get the extra but also loose 77 more for each line. Let's say you are planning to go for crush spec at 50 but lvled with slash spec. 1- You get 77 useless points that goes to your thrust 2- you didn't get your 77 extra points for slash 3- you have lost 77 more because they have gone to slash automaticly but you are crush spec.

Also crush is much more easier to lvl with. You don't have to cap dex and you can taunt forever. So every merc/arms should AT I think.

Thank you imamizer for the explanation of AT there. I have been a bit fuzzy on how it works so that helps a lot.

Unfortunately, I didn't realize we had AT here till I had a couple days of work into my arms so I'll have to live without them.

I have enjoyed leveling with thrust very much. Lots of low endurance reactionary style work with a high damage low-end 6-second stun off block, 3 style off-parry (all high damage low endo) reactionary, and ricochet off target-blocks. This is my first toon on uth and between drop items and rummaging through the housing market I have had str/con/dex/quick bonuses from items capped nearly every level so my "weapon-skill" as a Saracen has always been best with thrust through the grind. I typically solo so there is a lot of opportunity to use those reactionary styles against yellow/blue targets. I also have enjoyed popping a dex pot once and awhile, a boost to both offense and defense from 1 stat bump is a win in my book ;)

(must----justify---lack----of-----77-----pnts)....lol

Regards,
Eric
