Hi

I'm considering making a scout, a sniper. i see that some posts claim that specing weapon to 18 or 28 does not make much difference. So I'm thinking about if At is of any use on a scout, all it will do is get my weapon skill from 18 to 21. Is it worth lvling without specing bow just to get those 3 points in thrust/slash? As I understand I will only use bow for dmg anyway so why bother to get those 3 points extra in wep?

any thoughts on pro/cons that i'm not considering here?

it gives me 21 instead of 18 in wep, so +3 points

İt's 3 lvls with 60 points actualy :) I ATed all my toons and can't see any reason not to do it with scout. Full weapon+full shield doesn't make you gimp at all. Maybe At doesn't make much sense for the spec that you are currently thinking of but you will probably try different specs later, so extra 77 points will be usefull for you at some point. Like 29 st 42 sheild 44 thrust 35 bow at high RR maybe. AT gives you 32 st and makes it perfect for RR8 instead of RR11.

Agree - xping will be quite slower - but you are not totally gimped and you leave all options open for the future...

On the other hand... I saw scouts with d/q buff + some occasional endu pots and with correct arrows non stop pulling yellows/ojs which even did not reach em.

So - if you are casual player, go with no at, if you plan to play longer and more often, go at, it wont be too bad. I always liked to group at scouts with high dex/shield as guardtank for our pala.

Scouts are easy to AT. spec for shield+thrust and group whenever you can (guard on the main tank).
keep in mind that bow is mostly useless half the time anyways, as many of the best places to exp are close quarters in dungeons.
