I want to duo (me Reaver) with my buddy, he plays Paladin. ATM he is 42 shield, 42 chants, rest slash (17ish).

This is just a fun duo for roaming mabye Dartmoor for named and for old memories, ofc we will go DF a lot for Dia mobs, Kobil and some pvp.

I go for cookie cutter spec on Reaver... but what about the Paladin? For the moment, respec is no option (he ll stay slash, no rvr cookie cutter spec 44thrust).

He got no AT points.

29 Slash, 50 Shield, 42/46/48 Chants, rest parry
29 Slash, 42 Shield, xx Chants, high parry
39 Slash, 50 Shield, 42 Chants, rest parry

I think those are all quite viable (maybe except 2nd).. but which one to go for?

Besides duo we will take part on PVE Raids, too.

Concerning RA - as he will not 8v8, he ll dont spec Det. He got mob3 atm... what next? Purge, IP - or master of parry/master of pain?

mob3 > Ip2 > mop3 > purge for rr5

Chants can be higher but not necessary for what you are planning to do. 29 slash and higher parry would be better but you said that you will take part on PVE Raids too and for Dr/taj2 stuff your pally friend supposed to tank. With less than 39 weapon he will loose the agro to you or merc all the time. With this spec and Ra he can also solo pretty well.
