I played DAOC from release through ToA. my primary main was a minstrel. I loved the class, but it sounds like here, like everywhere else, people don't really understand how to utilize a mins. I am primarily a solo player now due to real life. i loved the utility of a minstrel, but they can be a beating sometimes with all that is involved with playing them.

i am considering what class to play here. i have had 50s in each realm, but mostly pbaed my way through hib and mid. i would love some suggestions about classes. as a solo player i assume i need to stay in the stealth classes. i like the stealth game, so that is fine. i love to hang out in DF and rvr when my realm doesn't have access to it, i also like random encounters in the frontiers. i have been leaning toward the melee ranger because they seem the least labor intensive to play, but i fear i will miss climbing walls.

as someone who understands the stealth game, but has never played an assassin, is it that hard to pick up? some factors to consider, i will be poor, so if i need eight weapons to swap for poisons, that might be a deterrent. are any of the three assassins easier to pick up? cs and envenom seem the same across the realms, iirc sbs were more susceptible to str debuff . any thoughts soul be appreciated. i apologize in advance for the lack of formatting. virtual keyboards are not my friend.

It really boils down to either Infiltrator or Minstrel in Alb based on your comments. Scouts are the least played sneak class in Albion and along with Hunters are severely outmatched compared to Rangers, who are overplayed and overpowered frankly.

Infil might be a good choice if you want to hang out in DF or at AMG Emain. You already have played a Mini and know what they can and cannot do when soloing; you will be spotted a mile away by enemy sneaks, hit for crap in melee and will need to kite to do well.

As for templates, capping everything on these two classes isn't easy but leather is cheaper than chain and there is quite of bit of used armor and weps for sale in housing.

Just remember this is a "custom" server with a target patch of 1.69, which could take years to actually happen, and current RA's are based on NF and not OF although there has been talk the past 12-18 months of going back to OF RA's at some point.
