Minstrel Template?

I am new to alb and don't know what high utility items to start with. Does anyone have a template that is fairly easy to get that caps most things? (or suggestions of good items to buy)

i dont know your spec or how important you consider dex, but you could drop it if you wanted to by using a beli cloak and a different bracer, but these items are probably a nice starting point for you (practically all from df :D)

Question about minstrel templates..
How important is STR when in a mode holding an instrument?

The reason being that when SCing I like to shift my skills and stats so that they are laregly located on the items that are equiped only when they are needed. My weapons have slash skill, quickness, str, and some dex on them. (dex being primarily for block/evade calcs, as our only dex based spell is ae mez)

My concern is that with all that str loaded onto my sword and shield, my suit will only have 37 str when I have my flute (which has +8 stealth on it) out. I could throw a 28 str gem on my drum which would get me to 61 str, so really my concern is with the flute.

With only 70 racial + X creation + 15 leveling + 37 templated str (total 132 + creation pts and RAs at lvl 50), how significant is the chance of beign encumbered? I want to be able to run full speed when flute mezzing, so encumbrance is not an option. Is it reasonable to assume that I will be fine? Is it worth it to retweak the template, and sacrifice pts elsewhere? or is it worth it to buy lifter 1 (lol)?

Any thoguhts on this matter would be appreciated

one iteration of the scing, all armor is 99%, mp sword and shield (because i happened to luck out and get an mp sword), if no mp sword just lower the dex on the sword to 16 (losing 9 dex). likewise mp flute can be subsitututed with a 99 and you lose 1 pt of stealth (which is what i intend to do until lvl 50 because i wont need +11 till then).

Main weak points are spirit/energy/matter resists. It was a design decision to leave them weaker and isntead squeeze in more dex. I anticipate a lot of stealth wars which entails more mellee than casters. Plus with 4 isntant interupts im not too worried about casters.

Minstrel Template (Cheap) using all 99% quality.

I made this and it's cheap and easy to get but I am sure it can be improved.
This was my first try without using any programs. I did this complete off the top of my head.
Using the Instruments, what concerns me the most is the Body and Thrust but again it's very cheap and easy to get
until important items or MP can be obtained.

Isnt is important for AE Castmezz and Demezz? I would not drop Dex for a Minstrel o.O

How important is STR when in a mode holding an instrument?

It doesnt need to be capped when holding an instrument!!! I would suggest putting strengh on the weapons/shield and cap it on this just like your weaponskill (Thrust/Slash/Crush - whatever)

I have a allcap Minstreltemplate but its all pieces MP (only torso 99% possible) + Weapons, Instruments MP + 2 Wormbracer
=> I doubt that this is a good Startertemplate :(

I tried a Temp for SARACEN Thrust Minstrel

Its all with 99% Stats are caped, Resist are imo fine. I think I will run this one for the moment :)
