Uthgard

Take some time to explore the realms and bring back your best photo! The top 3 winners will receive a small amount of Uthalis for their efforts. Players of any level and any realm are welcomed to enter.

Show us the most interesting photo you can find that has a gravestone in it.

Qualifying Criteria

*Photo is unedited. No photoshop or other editing allowed
*User interface is hidden (including names - no names can be visible!)
*Visible. Some areas are very dark (Summoners Hall) but the screenshot should be clear! Night time shots are allowed, but take care that it isn't too dark!
*Includes at least one gravestone
*The screenshot is interesting!
*Large screenshots are welcomed, but not required.
*Submissions must be received by August 2nd at 00:00 CET (+1 GMT)


Judging Critera

All criteria are worth 0-10 points. The screenshot with the highest score will win.

* Uniqueness. Is the screenshot unique? Does it stand out from the rest? Is it funny, dramatic, or epic?
* Location. Does the location of the screenshot add to the flavor of the screenshot and help tell the story?
* Content. Is the content well-framed in the picture? See this page for tips

Submit your screenshots to abydosuthgard@gmail.com as an attachment. The subject of your email should be "[SCREENSHOT CONTEST SUBMISSION]".

If you'd like to help judge the screenshots, please e-mail me with the subject "[CONTEST JUDGE SUMMER 2013]". Include your main character name. 1 Entry per person. You may not reuse someone else's shot. Judges will not know the identity of the submitters. In the event of a tie, I will decide the winner. Please note: Judges are not eligible to compete in the contest. The first 10 applications for judges will be accepted. There is no Uthalis reward for being a judge - only the feeling that you helped make a fun event!

Results will be posted on or before August 4th.

What is a uthalis?

Its ingame currency (or reward if you like) what can be earned from various events. You can buy special things for it, such as weapon skins, armor skins, various item tokens.

So I have an issue..
I want to participate, but have been trying to capture a screenshot from Uthgard, to no avail.
Every time I hit Print Screen on my keyboard while in game, it doesn't capture the client...

So when I attempt to take the screenshot, paste it in paint, photoshop, etc. All I see is whatever I have running in the background of my client (web browser, etc.) if anything, and a black rectangle on the top left of my screen representing the DAoC Portal and client.

Not sure if this makes sense to people.

Long story short, I can't participate in the epic event because I haven't found a way to actually capture a successful screenshot period.

Originally I just wanted one of my character to use as my avatar, here on the forum.

if u play with an extern keyboard, try "-" from ur num block. if it is a laptop keyboard, hf trying to find the correct combination mine is function+ö

And so is that for an actual quick-key in-game?
Rather than a computer oriented screenshot? (example: Print Screen button versus a key set specifically in DAoC?)

Yes the - key can be used to take an in-game screenshot (saves to my documents\electronic arts\dark age of camelot)

Alternatively you can use a program like fraps as long as NOTHING except the game appears (no framerate counter, no watermarks)
