Hello Community,

Today we have a slightly different kind of news: community news.
A few things regarding the organisation of Uthgard are going to change. The first step is this news to better inform the community about Uthgard, the Staff, Projects and other things.

Player Council
A new player council will be built. At the moment we are looking for people that could be a part of the council. If you want to propose a player for that or have an idea who should represent your realm or timezone, write me a pm.

What is a player council?
The setup of the council will be a mix of all realms and US & EU timezone players. Players which are involved in every part of gaming style in their realm and are in touch with many players of different guilds, alliances, playstyles and timezones.
The duties of the player council should be to give direct response to the staff what the players think about changes and bugs and the mood of the community.

Developer
We have a upcoming Dev Nerzal. He is trail GM at moment. We have no forther informations, maybe in thenext news.

Blue gave out some information at what he is working. At the moment it is the RvR-code, that needs to be rewritten in some parts. Sadly players won't see what it changes immediately, but you may have noticed that little bugs in the RvR mechanics are not as easy to fix as they should be. That's because of the current state of the RvR-code. After the rewriting, it should be much easier to eliminate bugs. It will take time to do that rewriting, but after that some changes will follow fast.

Confirmed Changes:
Porting to keeps, if specific requirements are met
Keep bonus system, including defense bonus
Relic guards strength depending on keep status

Note, that even after the reworking of the RvR-system it might take some time until the changes are done and maybe they will be different in the end.

In the short term, the staff hopes to fix the small list below to ease some frustrations.
1. Juggernaut fix (#3052)
2. MCL (#3062)
3. Buff/Debuff % HP Change (#3105)
4. Amnesia speed loss (#3254)
5. Combat timers being set incorrectly (2325 , 611)

Herald
The Herald will be changed a bit so you can see who recently led the last raids.
There might also be some Hall of Fame changes.

Featured Community Project
I want to introduce a community project from [Blutrausch]Rector: Catgard User Interface Modification:

It is a modification of the old UI called CatSkin, for Uthgard players. Stuff that has to do with MLs, CLs and ToA were taken out by Rector and some other features were taken into. The UI as well as the forum where it's hosted is in german, an english version is not planned.
Here is a short translation of the most important features:
Ready2Play-Interface (e.g. chat windows already configured when creating a new char)
TTF-Font or Bitmap-Font (Font changes possible ingame OR better performance)
OF maps with horseroutes, RvR-Dungeon entrances
Big group and conc windows
Healers helper
modified old style icons
no pumpkins (lootbags, moon)
fixed "-1"-bug in the hp/endu/mana indicators
up to date marktexplorer and trainer windows
variable buffbars (up to 15x5)
...

Installing
Just double click the installer and choose as path your DAoC folder, not the ui/custom folder, just the DAoC Folder. You should do a backup of your existing /ui/custom folder before!
If you want to have the new icons, delete the files CBT_500.bmp till CBT_800.bmp in daoc/ui/custom folder. For spellicons delete SPL_0.bmp till SPL_400.bmp.

Featured Videos
Both featured videos are from a "Blue Sunday" player event. The first was created by Glimli, the second by Holsten. They show big fights between the realms.

i like that you try to inform the players but i guess you are hitting the wrong playerpool
ppl who read this read the forum anyways, you would need to make ingame anouncements.

also i don't get why 50% of your post is about a custom skin in a news thread Oo
+ i would also add to save your ui options before if you want to fall back on them
i realy disliked rectors ui in many factors and i needed to delete the hole folder to get rid of it.

I have to agree, every time the "8v8 elitist assholes" complain about adding we are told that nobody can tell anyone how to play. Well and now they can?

Well, i took the part with the "how it should be" out, funny that you even complain about that and btw it is a Community news, not a staff news.

This is NOT a staff news. This is a community news by the head of the new player council. Luydor is not a staff member nor has he access to internal staff forums. Seems some (e.g. Bloodwyne) did not understand this.

Wow, guys! This is nice! I do read the forums, but I hate having to sift thru tons of mindless stuff and complaints ot get to the good stuff... communication from the Staff.
