Password Security
If you have played on other freeshards with the same account/password combination you use on Uthgard, change your password right now! As you know, DOL is an open source project. Therefore, a malevolent freeshard admin could change the code and log your account name / password when you connect to his shard.
As we have seen quite a few account hijackings recently, we suspect this is the case, though we cannot identify any shard yet. If you have played on another DOL shard, if you might have used the same account/password combination, consider your account to be insecure.
For your information: We cannot restore any lost items, if your account was hijacked.
For your own security, change your password right now!
Generally speaking, do not use the same account/password at different servers/sites. This means not only DOL shards, but also board logins, Ebay, Freemailers, anything.
You can change your password ingame with the command "/password"
Usage: /password <current_password> <new_password>

Hello, i was out of town for the holidays when all of this panic hit the server and everyone scrambled to change their password. Well, it was just my luck, out of all the accounts that probably get on once a week, or once a month, my account was hijacked. I play everyday and have numerous high level players and high level crafters. I understand your policy on not being able to return items, i can see the hassle and deceit that would present. However, i dont care if all my toons are completely naked, as long as they were not deleted or respecced from their trades by the deviant that got my pw. I have spent over 40p and hundreds of hours at the forge and alchemy table and SC table. I am the main crafter in my guild AND for most of my friends. I have tried numerous times to /appeal and /callgm (i had to create a new account, level to 5 before i could do any of this) and i haven't heard a single word from anyone. The longer that i am unable to log in and secure my account, the longer the hijacker has to destroy everything of mine!! I have done everything i can possibly do! I filled out the lost pw form, i /appealed, i /callgm, i had my guildmates /callgm, i have written BOTH administrators, and i have not received a single word from anybody!! Just a "Were looking into this" would be nice. How can you have such a passive policy on this issue (no returns, no exceptions) AND such a passive plan of action? I am doing my part, i need to secure my account. The longer this goes on, the more damage might be done. Then what? Some more passiveness on yall's end, and basically a "go screw yourself" message for me? I understand that u guys have real lives, and are dealing with just more than me about this issue, but please, do SOMEthing. Just a word from a GM would be nice. Thank you. I don't mean to come off rude, im just worried/frustrated.

Have some patience, please.
When you submitted the account recovery request, it was 01:00 CET, 5 hours (06:00 CET) later you complain here that you haven't got a reply yet.
Most GMs/Admins work at standard times in europe. Expect a reply to recovery requests within 1-3 days (as in 24-72 hours).
