Agramon

PostPosted: May 22, 2009 01:06

Due to recent problems in Agramon which were propably caused by removal of the camps we decided to re-implement this port option until we come up with other solutions.

This change is temporary. The inclusion of the port points into supply chain may follow.

Porters are located in following keeps:

- Caer Boldiam
- Dun na nGed
- Glenlock Faste

let me be the first to congratulate you for giving up that weird experiment and return to good old state !
maybe its not the perfect rvr, but still the best for the moment. im looking forward to have lots of solo / duo / trio mg fights again ;)

what we have (hopefully) learned is, that rvr dynamics on uthgard are very sensitive and changes have to be made slowly and discussed with the community. 8)

Nice change! Maybe it's not perfect but it beats running around 4 maps to find one silly fg ;)

New teleport guards don't seem to like me that much though:

I'm dissapointed by this. We will just get the same situation as before. This is really becoming like raising kids to do whatever they want (and remain ignorant) instead of allowing them to actually use their brains to figure things out on their own. It should have been a no brainer to just go back to doing whatever routine you were doing before teh teleport change if you wanted action (hello, camp the gates? Eventually someone will show up). It was rather silly that people ran around all frontiers instead of doing what they were doing before when the action before was always centered around the gates/stable master points and level spots. In my opinion, the best thing to have done was to just tell people to do what they were doing before the teleport change and be done with it, or pick a spot, add some additional bonuses for going there (a temporary 50% rp gain in agramon) and as the action got better, remove the bonus. If people want instant action in a zone, why not just implement level 50 bgs and add a teleport timer?

I think re-implementing this tp system just reinforces stupid behavior, lack of creative thinking and more importantly, gives incentives for people to throw tantrums in the future and get what they want through mass complaining. This whole episode very closely resembles a spoiled child throwing a fit until they get what they want from the parent.

zipi, nixian,

you complain everytime, when staff do something, when they know that they did a mistake but you don't propose solution that could work.

the problem here wasnt the system but the community

so the "fix" shouldn't be on the system but on the community - however try changing a cow into a horse.. it aint easy

Zippity, Nixian. As Blue stated the current camps are only a temporary solution until we finished the work on the final one. So, please be a little bit more patient.

If most peeps likes it, i calls it great news. Cant really say that "ohh, noobs whined and u caved in" If Most of the people didnt like it, there had to b a reason.

The temporary aspect was read and comprehended. The only issue that i have with this is that we know the old tp system had problems (nayru already brought those issues up) but yet it was re-implemented without first exploring what else could be done to clear up the debacle. Maybe this is in the realm of the "should haves, could haves and would haves" but I think that my previously stated points are still valid. Remove the tp, inform players to do their normal routine as before when camps/tp were around or add some temporary bonus to agramon and let people figure out that they ought to go there for themselves until you get desirable metrics for rvr population in the zone, and then remove the bonus. Anyway, thats all i have to say on the subject.

zippity, nixian, we all already got it. you are the 2 fanbois who liked and defended the new crap rvr.
i guess, thats why you made that much agra rvr in the last weeks (check your lwrp).

especially as stealthers you should be glad about the camp solution.
the reason why you dont appreciate the camps like every other hib/mid/alb stealther is just your lack of skill (indeed, we know you are not the great killer as seen in your last movies directors cut  )

I was never a fan of teleportation schemes to frontiers to begin with, nor camps. And as for my skill, well thats subjective i guess. I have my own playstyle and others have theirs. As for the movie you are referring to, i havent seen it nor am i interested in viewing it. Furthermore, using the last week realm points as a basis to draw any conclusions about someone's activity is shady at best. Perhaps that person's playstyle doesnt include being top of the charts in realm points earned? Perhaps the playstyle leads one to not see a lot of action a particular spots while they are in the frontiers? I would highly recommend using a different form of metrics to base your judgements on before drawing such a conclusion.

Speaking for myself, i'm here to have fun; not top the lwrp charts, not top the solo kill charts, and most certainly not top the "im the biggest jerk on the forum/ingame" chart either. My play style is catered toward my own version of fun and I hope to continue doing unless something like an undesired change occurs that prevents me from enjoying the game.
