@ Rev- I agree to an extent. I believe we have completely different views on how this is fixed though. You think there should be custom solutions that will make things easier on new players. I won't disagree with you at all on that, but I know the GM's will never implement such a change.

My views on it are a bit more cynical. I don't believe you can fairly equalize the gap between casual and hardcore players. Yes, you can put in custom changes that make it easier for new players, but the hard core players can use the same functions, so does that really improve anything for casuals? I personally believe that the only way this problem is fixed long term is if they can keep a healthy population of casual friendly RvR players on all 3 realms. The type of players that will just form up a zerg with players no matter how good a player is or what kind of gear he has on. Those types of players exist, the problem is keeping them on a server for YEARS down the road. A server reset does not fix this.

I don't mind people having different views than mine, actually I believe diversity is a good thing.

Apart from custom fixes how do you keep new/casual players?

I'm sure this can be dealt with if people want to. I think even making gift items or the epics at 5 10 15 etc and putting in the OTD's can help. I think the players themselves can help out by encouraging new players and helping them gear up. I think advertising can help, both by word of mouth and also by actually advertising the "Free game" on the free server which is international.

The economy sucks all over and daoc is still one of the best pvp games going.

Players can greatly contribute to a server if you let them.

Uthgard, still the best server. Thanks, Devs.

The gap between hardcore and casual player can ´t never be closed in totally due by game mechanics of this kind of games. But it can be shortened. In this case you see a smal till big difference in Uth 1.0 (like it has been 1-2 years before the downplatching area begun in comparisation to the Uthgard 2.0 gonna be setup with the 1.65 setting, we are walking down the line on the opposite like the live servers developed were changes have been made to make the game more playable by all kind of players.

I ´ve always been a foe about this progress here, but it can ´t be helped and I ´ve to accept it as a player because the staff makes the rules but talking anout it know it ´s quite useless, it ´s only all about to say someday..." I was right as I told you long ago....". In fact that will be quite uninmportant too in that case, because it would be the noticed end of Uthgard 2.0 at this day.

I hear you, I have gone back to old school games myself. I have been disappointed in pc game releases for years now, it seems that game companies think as long as the game looks good then content doesn't matter and play-ability doesn't matter. I will say I LOVE Dying Light and have been hardcore playing that since its release. Great graphics and great content (in my view) but one game can only last so long. I also await the return of Uthgard.

I think 2 things would go a long ways for casuals here. Adding a buff npc so that xping is friendlier ( this might help with the people trying to cheat with buffbots also) and/or let people get into rvr faster by cutting xp time down. I'm not suggesting we go with live like rates, but getting a casual to xp grind to 50 here is tough when you are referring friends. With old uthgard I got 3 different friends to play, and only one made it to 50 and the other 2 said the road to 50 was terrible. If you want a decent casual population you need to remove the frustrating parts that are there for no real reason.
