I can explain how it was back on liveserver at our desired patchlevel: If you command your pet to attack a stealther and he goes into stealth, the pet still follows and hits him (no matter how far away he is), which breaks his stealth of course.

Nothing more, nothing less. Pets don't destealth stealther without the command to attack them. So for example a hunter pet set to aggro will NOT destealth every stealther nearby. But no way to hide from a pet that has you as his target.

Did you refuse to take your meds again?

Arinmir wrote:Hi,

I have not read all but most of the posts. However, I still have a few questions.

What will be the duration and reuse timer set of PoM and Invig (Endu) potions?

Will Avoidance of Magic (AoM) also reduce the duration of Croud Control (CC) effects (like it did before the introduction of primary and secondary resists with new Frontiers, which was not bad at all because it reduced the damage done by debuff nuke assists)?

Will the Group-finder work at all? (The button you could use to set you LFG and search for LFG’s used on live a lot in classic and SI times?) Are there plans to introduce an automated group building tool like they are currently trying on live?

Will the not live like customization of skin-changes for weapons, armor and cloaks be available again? I can judge by the skin of an Item what it should be and thereby estimate the opponents equipment and damage. This was nullified with the introduction of (especially) weapon skin changes.

thx!

Thank you for your questions. Please see September Grab Bag for answers.

Stay tuned for hot news

I always refuse to take my meds. Hope that explains everything. :P

Players can greatly contribute to a server if you let them.

Uthgard, still the best server. Thanks, Devs.

I don't think it is crap but working as intended, it makes absolute sense that somebody can not stealth with a pet actively following.
imho on live Mythic at one point just gave in to constant whining of the stealther community... probably taking into consideration that all competetive stealthers paid for 2 accounts

cheers

Talking about making sense in a fantasy game setting, hehe ...well, this how I see it:
- stealth as in "I can hide in open areas and full sight of anybody" does not really make sense for a start, so I see it as a skill to kind of influence/create an illusion aimed at the players around you so they loose awareness of you
- any animal pet would be able to track/see you anyway, because their awareness/senses are much better developed
- any magic/undead pet would not be fooled by that illusion as well, as they see the world different anyway

thats how I make sense of it

cheers

i think it's a crap because it would be the unique (imho) situation in which a player can't disengage from a battle. Furthermore this doesn't happen because of the player skill / ability, for example:
- i rupt a stealther so he cannot hide
- i snare any class so he cannot run away
- i have speed so i can reach him

In these cases, it may be hard, but you can still disengage and save youself

It's due to a mechanics and not to the skill of the player

that range is small tho...any snare/stun and you can go everywhere. Again, it's a mechanics you can cancel with your skill / class abilities

Yeah but if you've ever been pursued by a pet, you'll know that you could get like a whole zone away (ie. with ranger speed/mount etc.) and then 5 minutes later the pet shows up and unstealths you. That's why it feels like such a bug.

Speaking of "making sense" I can totally put poison on a knife IRL and give it to a friend. But it sounds like they are implementing that as well so it's going to be 1.65 warts and all. I'm ok with that.
