Mid was running around with 6+ groups, hibs could muster 1-2, and albs had no groups out in normal euro primetime.
They asked 3 (or 4?) guilds on Mid to move to alb/hib, in return they would get 20 plats (to each guild) and 1 i50 per player.
Many of the players involved lost several lvl 50's, leg crafter, houses and raid items. It was not a great deal overall.

The problem was:
a) Many had done the same already, and gotten nothing for it
b) The community was not involved in coming up with a solution to the imbalance of population.
c) The guilds who moved were for most part PvE guilds, and did nothing to change the balance.

The whole affair was blown out of proportion, "Cloak n' Dagger" etc... despite it being done in the middle of Camelot, for all to see.

You can have different opinions on it being right or wrong (I viewed it as wrong, but was not offended like so many were, just a freaking game), but it was handled like a drunk elephant in a porcelain store trying to glue the pieces together.

So yes, there is more to the story, and yes it was a blunder, but please don't make it out like the GM's there are some power hungry crazies who hand out buffs to their friends, because that is not true.
I don't play there anymore, but that has nothing to do with bad GM's, because they're really helpful!

... is to balance realm population with underdog bonuses, and not i50's :)

What happened to the kitchenware/wedding rings adverts? I'm in the market for both, and went to these forums to find nothing! :wall:

If you're in the market for some Oakley sunglasses the Lolgins forum gets a lot of those adverts. 8)

The group that runs up against them can't kill them fast enough because smite clerics have sooooooo many tools at their disposal combined with decent ranged damage with 8 of them dudes doing it!

Thought I would stop by, I honestly thought this server would be back by now haha, I'm impressed. If its taken this long I'm sure what ever they come up with should be killer. Anywho - I've started a subscription on Archeage And I can tell you with 100% certainty my DaoC days are done and gone. Archeage has done some things that are truly impressive. I strongly urge you to give it a shot. Feel free to hit me up and I will be more than happy to help you out.
Good luck on the Nostalgia that Daoc once had.

played Arschage... it seems impressive on first sight, but the endgame can't keep up with daoc.

I played it while too, ended at 30 lvl. Game became extremly boring with grinding same quests over and over.

I appreciate the information, I am downloading it now to try it out. I like the idea of the farming and their housing seems competitive and I kind of like that.

Yeah, Archeage was a missed opportunity. Had fun with it at first cause it has a nice engine, pretty graphics, some cool gimmicks like glider but they made some pretty bad mistakes on the endgame PvP. I can't get into these games where you literally respawn 10-15 seconds away from where you died and can keep hopping up rejoining the fight.

Also, in enemy zones, if you're in a group but you get attacked by an enemy group, they can kill you one by one because they can attack whoever they want but you can't fight back until you get hit individually.... w. t. f. Also, there's no diminishing returns or immunity timers on CC.

And then of course there's all the typical f2p pay-to-win nickel-and-dime bullshit, severe limitations on progression and an appalling crafting/upgrade system for endgame armor/weapons. It's a shame to waste such an otherwise well-designed mmo.

Yep, I tried AA, and yet on several occasions this year I keep checking back here hoping the answer will be "soon".

Really looking forward to the day Uthgard 2.0 launches, thanks for keeping us up to date guys.
