Ya i think SI should be shelved and focus on completing what not already completed. Not sure how you can work on SI when classes aren't even completed yet. I like the idea of SI, would love to see it implemented in the future, but do not put the carriage before the horse.

GMs work on SI while developers work on fixing classes, bugs, etc.

Think this has been said about 100 times on this forum now :) search function is in the upper right corner.

That' post was really disappointing. I expect that from a forum troll not a staff member. Look at my post count vs time here, I am not a frequent poster. I read posts rarely make comments and don't dedicate my life to search functions before i post an opinion. I understand the staff put a lot of time into Uthgard but please be more courteous to those who play casual and also fallow boards casually as well. Thank for explaining the duties of the staff though.

Please do not take offense, but understand even in this very own thread that same question is repeated often. Even in this thread, the same question/answer is on page 2, 3, and 4.

when my friend the amg police sheriff winkz made a repeated inquiry to trishin about his banned account that could never be retrieved and what he should do the GM simply replied "get a life".

Such remarks are extremely rare and we take care to maintain a level of professionalism unseen in other freeshards. We are, however, human. It may have been as a joke, or a slip up -- the circumstances I do not know. That being said, if you do find yourself offended gently let the person know and try to resolve your differences. If you're unable to resolve it with that staff member you can appeal to Blue.

I was just a lil shocked that's all. Nothing to complain to Blue about. Life goes on, and so does Uthgard 8)

That was said in the context of joking and fooling around. If anyone got another percerption from what happened i apologize.

@Qibo my response was by no means an attempt to troll, but answering the same question over and over in the same thread makes me feel a little stupid at times. Sorry.

Correct me if I am wrong, but the only main developer Uthgard has is Blue, yes? And I am pretty certain he mentioned that Abydos was being trained to work with the code - and that was months ago. So I think some 'confusion' is warranted if Abydos mentions continued progress on SI, all the while the core of DAoC (RvR) is in need of major attention yet doesn't seem to get it.

No, that isn't what Blue said. Blue is the only active developer. I have the ability to view and submit small modifications, but when it comes to (re)designing core systems I simply can't do that -- I lack the training. That being said, my primary task of worldbuild has always remained the same. Blue's focus is on development, and he happily works away to odd hours of the morning when he can. As it happens, he's on vacation for the time being.

The SI research has expressed itself in rather epic spurts this past year. Players get excited, submit a lot, then it seems to go silent, for some reason I don't understand. What I find interesting is if we had peak-level activity sustained for a few weeks, the research portion would have been done a long time ago. Remember, the goal is the preserve what SI *IS*, before mythic gets the idea to start revamping those zones.

It is my sincere hope to deliver an SI experience that does justice to the hard work Mythic put into it all those years ago.

Why dont you just take the revamped versions? If you dont do that why do you do all your raids anyway, since all the encounters were made much easier than they were at launch, so this seems worthless then.

Difficulty is a bit of a problematic measure anyway, since Uthgard has neither the same meta nor the player numbers as live servers had back then. The first successfull Galladoria raid ever had > 100 players and took over 6 hours. I think we can agree that this would be unsuitable for Uthgard.

i remember raiding caer sidi with like 4-5 fg (experienced sidi-leader as well as a lot of experience sidi-raiders), which is a fair amount but reachable, considering, that dragon or legion raids are attended by 40+ players usually ;)...normally many more!
