Coming up on 1.5 years of downtime.

Players can greatly contribute to a server if you let them.

Uthgard, still the best server. Thanks, Devs.

Guys take your time. All of us will play happily on Uthgard at some point in the future :D
Hope GMs are fine with what they have stated, that they are fine with just 80 people (300ppl was Trishin Statement long time ago) playing the game under their vision.
Its important to leave this server running doesn't matter how low the numbers will be. The other servers can fail but Uthgard still will be there, thats Uthgards only chance.

Edit 19/09/21: Well Uthgards chance has come.

Nice Haiku brah.
There will be a group of people out there who will want this realm to be entirely Mythic-like. Exactly like vanilla, drop rates/xp rates, basically everything and you will not be able to please them unless it is exactly like vanilla.

These people have their nostalgia goggles on so tight it's cutting off the bloodflow to their brain and they believe that vanilla was perfect and nothing was wrong with it.

Noticed a decreasing amount of posts,- no surprise in fact of the long offline period of Uthgard, player losing interest and there isn ´t much to say anyway. So the majority of forum visitors is silent.
Keep on going with that,- the less posts are made, the more time the staff has to take care about getting the server relaunched  . I know, I´m just dreaming.

I don't think that is 5 7 5

We should start a haiku thread.

Uthgard I love you
But hate that you will return
In Twenty Sixteen

I'm sure I screwed that up.

They are purely relying on communitys incentives to create "zergleaders" and think those would be able to keep the casual RvR population high ;) Sadly none of them really knows the game enough to create a good server. It will be the best copy of 1.65 possible with no doubts, but thats about it. Its a copy of a game that is very much depending on its playerbase and you cant copy the playbase of 2002/3. You would need customisations, but i believe now, more than ever before, this word is the devil in the Uthgard-Staffs mind. The only reason for casuals to stay on Uthgard 2.0 longer than on Uthgard 1.0 will be the PvE content once SI is released. The 8vs8 community will probably increase and make sure the frontier zones will be a casual desert asap ;)

Agreed, and I have been saying the same for a long time Bloodwyne. I really do appreciate all the work the GM's have and continue to put in the server, however, I have seen very little to any changes/fixes that will "fix" what was broke with the server. I called how Genesis would fall into the same disarray that Uthgard did. Sure enough, it happened, and from what I have been told its even worse than it was on Uthgard. Less people in RvR zones and ZERO solo action in RvR zones. At least Uthgard had a smattering of both during American prime time.

As I have said time and time again, the only true fix to this problem is population. This will be "fixed" for a time when Uthgard re-opens. Once the RR gap starts to develop you will see more and more casuals either quit playing or shifting focus on more BG players and more general PvE and leaving the RvR zones. Fast forward a year or two and you will be in the EXACT same population situation that Uthgard had before closing.

I wish I had a more positive outlook, but people don't understand that this game is not for casuals UNLESS casuals make the effort to go out and play in RvR zones. Perhaps the Elites can prevent this for awhile, but I have a hard time believing that over years of time they will not revert to their normal selves killing everything in sight and being critical of anyone who does not view the game exactly as they do.

This all of course makes me ask again, why we did a reboot just so we could be in the same spot 1-2 years down the road again. Are we going to reboot every time there is a RR gap between casuals and hardcores? Yes, I know the items were also a problem, but you could have wiped the money and items and left the toons....

I was basically told to shut up regarding this sort of thing, by both staff and players.

That being said, even if nobody wants to hear anything I have to say they still have a problem which needs resolved. Casual players are the lifeblood of any server and so are new players. Saying it isn't so doesn't mean it isn't so.

They either acknowledge they need casual and new players and figure out how to get/keep them, or they are sailing the Titanic into arctic waters and polishing the brass railings.
