The problem is: where do you draw the line? How do you define what is a minor change that won't destroy gameplay and what is not? And how do others define that? I'm 100% sure you can't get everyone to agree to a specific custom change.

Potions with 9 charges are no big deal you say? So why not have horse routes to emain for hibs because they have to waste so much time running to emain and it's just a nuisance and not relevant for gameplay... It takes AGES to level to 50 on a classic setting, lets increase xp rates for everyone since it doesn't affect RvR at all and just makes everyones lifes easier... That is exactly the reason why a definitive patch level and a strict enforcement is so important.


Those are absurd comparisons and you know it. You aren't contributing anything constructive to the discussion by making those up.

The only thing that single charge/low duration end potions do is add an annoying layer of inventory management that serves no purpose and that nobody enjoys. There is no difference in the balance of gameplay if you use 2 minute potions or if you use 10 minute potions, but with 2 minute potions you will force people to go back and get potions way more often, wasting time they could be spending RvRing and having fun.

This is one of those quality of life changes that has a known and predictable positive impact on the game, and no impact on the actual balance.

The solution is simple.. it's not rocket science
- If you are an alb, and don't want to run endurance pots, run a paladin.
- If you are an alb, and don't want to run a paladin, use endurance pots.

Uth 1.0 had the same endurance pots, and there were plenty of competitive alb groups. It isn't that difficult. Yes, it can be annoying. If it is something that you don't think you can handle, then play a different realm.

In the end it is up to the admins what custom changes they would like to incorporate. No buff bots sounds like that is the only thing they are willing to consider. Whining about the lack of other things that never existed to begin with in 1.65 is completely irrelevant. There will still be albs on the server. Yes, it's an uphill battle, but that's how it was back in the day.

Haha missed this. And who is the galandriel fellow? Is he the same galandriel that was in the god awful drachengard? IMO one of the worst mid guild groups on genesis but I will say that they were persistent, so props on coming back out over and over again.

I'm hoping all this whine and doomsday talk is just excitement from the Beta news and not a foreshadowing of what the server atmosphere will be like.

Uthgard 1.0 got rid of the 100 charge barrels a long time before the server went down. Single use pots were in for a good while and it wasn't a problem.

What was the range on endo chant? Were end pots 10 minutes or 2? And it had NF RAs, right? (pretty sure tireless/LW cost less on NF)
