Thanks for all your work GM/Devs. Some people will complain no matter what, and these same people are the ones least likely to help out in any way.

I'm new here, but I know a lot of people who have played live off and on for 10+ years or who stopped playing live years ago and never made it here, but who are looking very very hard at coming here when this server reopens and will probably want to donate, but probably won't donate until there is some sort of date set for opening. Is there any way to send all accounts here an email message when next there is a news post or do we have to un-delete our facebook accounts?

Assuming I'm an old player looking at the front page for any word on a release, where exactly should I be looking?

Before all the try-hards start talking about entitlement and all kinds of other fallacious arguments appear, I'm asking a staff member where people like me can come and check for any kind of news at all about release. Release.

As one of the potential players here, it would behoove everyone if we had any idea whatsoever. It could be more than a year away, it could be completely unknown with no possible guess even. This entire time I would like to come here and see if it is coming out in a few weeks/months and prepare for that, or if its very likely to be longer then fine.

People are going to want an ETA, and you can be snide and talk about how nobody deserves such a thing. You can be angry at them for their audacity, or whatever - people are going to come by here anyway. Why would you choose not to be proactive about that if something is creating such a nuisance for you? This just angers reason. It's just bizarre. The only remaining explanation is that people enjoy being like that to other people and others are satisfied when they see another interested player drop by and ask what quarter of what year to play here, and the only remaining members in this cesspool start the circle jerk rudeness. It's pathetic. Stop being douchebags to people that want to play with you. Kindergartners learn this. There is no defense for such an attitude.

I will say again as Quik has so correctly stated THESE PEOPLE OWE YOU NOTHING, YOU AREN'T PAYING THEM, PERIOD. You know why I get ****** at people like you? Its not because I love the devs and want to kiss their collective asses, its because I HATE entitled little brats with their daddy's money that probably have not worked a day in their lives and have everything given to them. That is the only think I can think of that explains the attitudes of many of the people here. We don't here from the responsible, patient people but I am not that responsible and will get on here to rip people a new one (verbally) who continue to jeopardize the server's return. I would rather have 500 patient, mature people playing than 2000 whiny little brats who think they are owed something and won't shut up about it.

The great examples are just pouring in here. Another textbook example of the type of attitude that will chase everyone away. Look at the tirade going on, and the hate. It's disgusting and only appears to spread here.

Look this is very simple explanation of cause/effect aka a reality check.

If....

-The devs provide little to no information on an ongoing basis
-Do not communicate and discuss things with their community
-Do not ask for and obtain community feedback
-Take their playerbase for granted
-Treat their playerbase like they deserve nothing and should just be grateful for the opportunity to play.
-Provide poor service

This equals a very small player base. Free or Paid makes no difference. "Reality" is people won't deal with it.

Personally I love DAOC and I've enjoyed myself on Uthgard in the past. However, the devs have a history of mismanaging the community and honestly I haven't seen anything change with this re-launch. I expect more of the same.

Insanity = Doing the same thing over and over again yet expecting different results.

I expect us to have the same population issues unless overall game management takes a significant turn for the better.
