The way I remember it is this: as long as it had no level requirement on it, you could use any accessories and get their stats if they were purple. For example, if you got a RoG drop from those Djinns in ToA that had overcap bonuses on it, you could give it to your 24 thid toon and even get the overcap bonus. I remember making a lot of thid toons that had overcap and other toa bonuses. The accessories would drop to 70 con almost instantly but it wouldn't matter as long as they had no +skill on them.

However, you could not give him purple armor/weapons as those stats would not have any affect.


Maybe it was actually the other way around, could be yes^^ Now that you say it i also remember using lots of highlvl crap jewelery on my low toons

No one cares. And the "decent" templates you talk about are nonsense as well since even if the item has a usefull set of stats it still sucks since the util of these items were way too low.
Yes you can dump them on your twinks and/or pvers but thats it.

Next time someone asks why there is no eta, you may refer to the implementation of ridiculous unimportant features
which could be easily brought after the relaunch without any single player suffering from anything.

You may read that as a critic of priorities and less of a critic of the ROG itself.

It may be that the majority don ´t care about ROGs, but I do, so why do you care that I care? oO
That ´s being said, there ´ve been decent ROG jewelery drops with prices far above 20 plats+ with 4 high resis on it etc. They ´ve been very rare and no issue to farm them at least sure, but that fact made them random.
But some ppl paid the prices to get the shrouded isles weapons , charges drops in their templates and still being full capped*.
I don ´t know if you ever played Shrouded Isles but I remember some kind of good jewelery is hard to find at this patch level in each realm.
If you don ´t like ROG drops, don ´t farm them or take care about the stats on it, dunno why you discuss your own point to be the only one right opinion here, these items will give great oportunities in economy and farming (if this game mechanic is set correctly by staff). Anyway, as long as SI won ´t be in, ROGs don ´t have a high use and we don t know when SI will be released or even Uthgard.

But last said to remember you : the goal is to etablish a server with almost the full content the 1.65 patch level from the live servers offers, so these "unimportant" things on your point of view with low priority, will be in as well as the important game mechanics. So there ´s no need to argue about content, because the server will just be ready to play when it ´s complete *(except Shrouded Isles)

@ ROGs
Afaik the stats on these rogs worked when equipped with purple con and also worked when durability went to lowest issue. They only needed to be repaired when there was a + skill line stat on it. The other stats still worked on item but the + skill didn ´t . I ´m not 100% sure about the con thing. I guess it was fixed later that the item con had to be red at least to make the stats on it work for your character but I dunno when/if it was changed.

I doubt all pets chasing down stealthed characters was working as intended at 1.65, and yet you are going to allow it to stay? Never made sense to me personally. A wolf made sense being able to track a stealthed person I suppose, but not all other conjured or charmed pets instantly having ESP all of a sudden.

Way back you could also use purp armor and get the stats, the armor would degrade very fast though.. not sure what patch lvl of course ;()

There was a time when purple items did not give you stats afaik. But not sure which patch level.

right at my daoc start i remember reading somewhere a homepage which had daoc infos... and i can remember the con for items, that u can use all but the downgrade will be rapid at higher items.

Purple items shouldn't apply bonus skill to your toon, that's what i remember.. but i played till 1.60, which mean that it could have changed between 1.60 -> 1.65.

Anyway, if staff can't provide an ETA (around months) then, at least tell for how much you surely wont neither open Beta, so that we can be sure that at least it wont open till then.

Something like "Not before end of the summer" is enough, considering the taboo of this question.

@PL_that_make_hard_create_xpgroups: That's not entirely true, people will be able to XP at every level with just couple of classes, instead of having a class for each needed role, thus once found the PL class, you have 90% of the group ready.
Ah, and you can still XP by "normal" ways.
There was a time when Uthgard 1.0 existed and maaaany toons and arrpees arose... but now:

Every Item should apply its stats to every char of every level (except the item itself [not the procc] has a level/class restriction). End of story.
