And trust me, it will be very easy. On monday 27th at 01:00 you'll lose 20 players that togheter will make you lose hundreds more.

I don't know what your problem with uthgard is, but judging from your post it has definitly nothing to do with the upcoming revamp. How anybody can get so lost in a game that he feels the urge to write things like that is absolutly beyond me.

Man. You are right.

Bellatrix, don't give in to hate. That leads to the Dark Side.

Server wipe will be the death of Uthgard, your loyal player base will vanish and all that will be left 'IF' the server ever re-opens will be those 'casual gamers' who will QQ the moment the first RR5 appears on the scene because they themselves are 1L5 and suddenly cannot compete with the guy that spent time to think out his gear down to the types of procs he wants to use, to the tactics he should use given the class and realm abilities available to him, to the places he should be hunting for players and a list of other variables in the mix.

Dedication, intelligence, skill, your template, realm abilities. That's how you make RPS in the frontiers people in the order i listed. A good example of this formula failing would have been my brother (no offense bro i love ya) He is just as experienced at DAoC in general as I am, he is a guru of making templates, is intelligent, has all his level 50's and all legendary crafters but never had a character above RR6 over his years of Uthgard. He tried to make his appearance on the Emain scene but because he lacked dedication he would get rolled by someone who has their tactics in order and felt as though he could not compete and would return to the world of PvE for very long periods of time, instead of trying again. It would have been very easy for me to do as he did and just give up but I went out on a limb and kept on trying, before i knew it I was 4L5, then 5L1, then 5L7, then 6L3 I died horribly in between then, but also succeeded in a grand way at the same time. If not for the high RR people running around I could have never bettered my skills, tactics and ultimately fun. It was extremely satisfying knowing at 6L3 there were only a handful of players that I absolutely could not beat and a large list of those I could, most of them much higher RR than myself.

The people that are calling for a server wipe will NEVER understand this and NEVER be willing to try. You'd better hope you have more time to spend than everyone else if the server does wipe if you are looking for that sort of advantage on people, if you can even call if that.

For some weird reason, some ppl thinks that a wipe only hurts high RR players.

I''m not a pro. I consider myself a casual gamer. A casual gamer who, over the last 6 years, have spent a lot of time leveling a lot of chars (12 to be exact) to 50 and raising most tradeskills. My highest RR is 4L5 but i couldn't care less about the gap with the high RR groups that roam in the frontiers.

I'm 36 yo, got a wife, a son and a full time job. I can barely play 7 hours a week so I FULLY UNDERSTAND that those players who play a lot more than me have gained their ranks. This happens not only in MMOs, this happens in every aspect of life. The more time you invest in something, the better you get at it. It's true that I could just focused in one char but everyone plays this game in the way he likes. I like variety, I like to do a lot of different stuff ingame and now I regret having invested a lot of time in things that will turn into dust. I'd rather play elsewhere, in another shard or in another game, than starting from scratch in a server ruled by someone who spit in my face and make my hard work dissapear :wall:

I've learnt something from this. Never trust a service which you don't pay for. At some point, they can kick you in the balls and you can't say anything about it. It won't happen to me again.

The Catch 22: if they don't wipe except for the RR can you really trust the decisions in the future? If they do wipe and take it to scratch at least they are doing what they say...

Either way, it's a train wreck and get your popcorn ready!

I seen you do it Rzr and we both know each others long roads in this game. I was never an elite or even what I would call a great player. I was decent to good at best. What set me apart from so many was nights going out and doing WHATEVER it took to get 10k in a night. If that meant tasking then so be it. If that meant getting killed by Divin 10 times a night to finally get him once, then so be it. This type of mentality is what sets a player apart and no server wipe will fix that.

Some have said in these forums that I'm selfish and only thinking of myself with my anger at this decision. However, I know that anyone that has ever interacted with me in any way on the game know's that I truly was never selfish on this game. I wanted what was best for all. I didn't get my RR by being better then everyone. I got it by spending hours, days, months, and years going out over and over again after being knocked down.

This is a knock down I COULD get back up from, but why? Instead I will just stay down and move on with my life. I've told Blue and others have stated here, the main thing that Uthgard had over every other freeshard was stability and the fact that you knew it was going to be there. Once you lose that then why would I choose to come back to Uthgard over any other freeshard?

wrong. full wipe needed

if you use your brain and get over personal "loss" feelings .. you'll see it's really needed.

I am shared between the respect owed to people giving of their free time to run a server such as uthgard (and you deserve it) and the annoyment provoked by the last communication of you GMs.

I wasnt there in 2003, been here 3 years, found a community, enjoyed it and will tremendously miss it.
Managed to get a decent rr on some chars with the solo play style that i enjoy in rvr, despite your obsession to put all players in the "group to play" format
Always had the feeling that this server was devided between the happy fews, getting the nerf infos before hand and having the GM's hear, and, the vast rest of the community.

Your blindness, your refusal to debate with your player community and mostly your arrogance, wounded uthgard more than origins could ever do it.
But you were obviously on a mission, and decided to kill it. Nobody else than yourself to blame for that decision
