2. Will power leveling be possible?

We have loosened restrictions to more closely match live based on research that is appropriate to the time period. These enhancements took effect shortly before Uthgard went down and we have refined them further since then. It is important to notice here that we still won't allow people to log in multiple accounts which will in some way limit the ability to powerlevel compared to live.

i smell hundreds of illegal dual-logs in the near future ... oO

And zero lowbie groups for new players in two months. :/ That's the bigger problem.

Get your ****** together, quit drugs for a couple of days and take a decision about Uthgards future in 2015...

Can we vote to ban this f*cker? I don't think anyone here wants that level of negativity and personal attacks against the staff.

To be honest, I felt happy to hear there are ROG drops, they give more oportunities to build decent unique templates and it ´s fun to farm them and see some really weird stats combined, for pve-farmers it ´s good because you don ´t have to farm the same items over and over again and get some surprises in form of special items.

@dabri0n
If you don ´t really care about Uthgard and think it ´s a wasted server, then leave the boards and troll somewhere else. It ´s ok to make some criticisms to maybe change something in a good way, but your comments are just negative flames with zero useful content. KKthxbye

It is my personal opinion that any PL mechanism - be it within the patch goal or not - is a terrible idea. Of course I understand the problem with making custom exceptions (where do you draw the line?), but surely PL will reduce the amount of players in the /lfg pool, making xp groups harder to form, especially for new/guildless players. I would like to know staff's philosophy behind this decision, what do you hope to achieve by making PL easier? What are the benefits to the server on a macro-level?

Because 16 months is not long enough for us to determine an eta for the already stable server which has been up for years to come back up.
https://www.uthgard.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=37632

Players can greatly contribute to a server if you let them.

Uthgard, still the best server. Thanks, Devs.

Guess you got a point there.
I remember the countless evenings of joy where we were making fun of that leather armor with +mana magic on it.
It was hilarious.
Not.

Also, do you know the story of that bracer that came with int and emp on it?
Neither do I because it was never told.

No one cares. And the "decent" templates you talk about are nonsense as well since even if the item has a usefull set of stats it still sucks since the util of these items were way too low.
Yes you can dump them on your twinks and/or pvers but thats it.

Next time someone asks why there is no eta, you may refer to the implementation of ridiculous unimportant features
which could be easily brought after the relaunch without any single player suffering from anything.

You may read that as a critic of priorities and less of a critic of the ROG itself.

could you use your working RNG of items for a special custom feature?

this might make ppl happy who say that RNG items are a waste of programmer time, cause you use that RNG code also for something else!

just a quick idea, get the server to create some own characters that behave like real players, to compense that less real players will play the longer the server needs to relaunch :!:

those server characters use a RNG which task they do, either craft, twink, farm money, go rvr
and RNG if they post in trade chat for their house where they sell items
and RNG which class they log in
and RNG which realm ... etc...

and lets call that server characters 'Rob Ot' or maybe 'R Obot'

1. Is uthgard going to support the use of the OLD 1.6x client so we can experience the full beauty of the game as it was during those times such as the unique character creation window and the return of actual leaping/JUMPING. (I hate the skip jump in the modern client)

2. How is uthgard going to deal with crossrealming?

i think we have to also remember uthgard mobs will be livelike ( camp size and respawn ) popular spots will be in high demand and its only a matter of time before all pl spots are camped leaving no other option for xp beside what we can call the old way :D efficiently built grps can also self pl themselves with great effect. the whole powerlevel process on any server will always require 1 crucial element if u wish to afk to 50, Friends !! and we all have equal chances on picking our friends.

that being said the only server ive ever seen where u do not need friends for powerlevel is genesis since they have implemented an xp system that grants bonus xp to having more members in ur grp, so inviting strangers usefull or not = more xp. everyone on genesis has good reason to sit back and wait for a leech slot and make no effort into earning their own xp. just don't presume pl on uthgard will result in the same :P ( alot of u genesis players are not gonna have a clue where to level after being spoilt with hundreds of custom pl camps )

If i remember correct, on live armor and weapons even if they were purple provided the stats they had (except for procs/charges with level restriction). Normal stats worked but the bonus was adjusted to the level of your character. Jewelery only applied its stats once it became red to the user.

The way I remember it is this: as long as it had no level requirement on it, you could use any accessories and get their stats if they were purple. For example, if you got a RoG drop from those Djinns in ToA that had overcap bonuses on it, you could give it to your 24 thid toon and even get the overcap bonus. I remember making a lot of thid toons that had overcap and other toa bonuses. The accessories would drop to 70 con almost instantly but it wouldn't matter as long as they had no +skill on them.

However, you could not give him purple armor/weapons as those stats would not have any affect.

Yes. It's like that I remember too. At some point, Idk at which patch, they changed things and added a hidden level requirement on items.

Some of the stats were transferred for a low character, yes, but some not. You could fully use a 'purple' item when you were 'green' to it, levelwise. That's how I remember this.
