First off I'd like to say "Thank you!" for all the hard work you Devs have been doing these past months, and letting us know the project still has the WIP status.
Please let us know if there is anything we can do to help with beta testing of any sort, that may help you with your work.
As for the server release itself, it may be a good idea to make the XP rate TRULY classic, so there won't be any level 50s with all crafters, within the first week (or two) of the server coming back. Maybe people would learn to appreciate what they have a little more, when its considerably harder to achieve the things they've been taking for granted prior to the server going down for a revamp.

It'd give us time to start leveling characters/crafters and we'd all still be on an even playing field at the start with no custom items in the community.
I agree with that sentence, time is your best enemi right now, more long server will be down more ppl will gone. And i guess, all your hard work could be useless ? if you just have 100 ppl online...
I agree, when a rough release date is known the staff and community should make commercials about the relaunch. There was a reason Genesis had much players from the bottom, because many ppl spread the release date in forums, told their friends about the server and so on. Some ppl might have forgotten Daoc Uthgard and we have to remind them . As I said before projects/Games like this one need a big community with much players, therefore it is important to keep players up to date so they don ´t lose attention & interest.

We do apriciate the work you have done. And would come back to Uth 2.0 anytime it will go live. Yeah, it takes time and yes I am getting older and older. Wich means Real Life comes more and more important. But that does not stop me playing Uthgard. Even if I am 50 irl, and that is a promise I looked those screenshots . . . And I was stunned . . . I saw OLD/CLASSIC Cotswold and Mag Mel. I almost burst in to tears. Haven't seen that for a loooooong time . . . but the memories came right back when i saw them. Like tower camping in Mag Mel @ Camlann(PvP). Or massive bloodbath in Cotswold. Thank you so much. We do love you. Even if we sometimes say otherwise

The XP rate have been classic. Is just people have learned to play the game better. To know spots and tactics. That makes it easyer to level up. Its not that 8 man will go kill blue/yellow mobs anymore. Its 3 man will go hunt red/purp for the cap XP. Few days back we were speaking about daoc with best friend. And we tought, if it only would go back to the launch of daoc. With the same knolledge we have today ... We would just RAPE everything on site. It is amazing how people evolve. Even after over 10 years of experience you still find new ways to do things better.

I can't help but feel that unless Uthgard gets a good healthy release before Camelot Unchained is released, there will be problems.
I think there's a lot of players outhere that are waiting for the release of Camelot Unchained, and once it does come out, I think it'll be too late, whether it's a fail or a success, because the core players of Uthgard will decide to stay in Uthgard level up and gear up, whilst those who try CU will lag behind massively if CU turns out to be a failure.
I think in any regard Uthgard will fail to gain the success that it did before teh wipe, purely because A. People would have moved onto pastures a-new or B. They're veteran Uthgard players that aren't closely linked to the community and do not want to roll again, for it to be wiped again in the near future.
That's why I think it could be a question to debate crowd-sourcing money, so staff can work on the game as a full time job, not even having rewards, just tell people the release date will be earlier and earlier more they donate, because the staff can re-direct their efforts to a fulltime work on Uthgard (I'm sure some of the major contributing staff can afford this as contract staff or something.)
IIRC, Genesis was/is a failure, and even if Uthgard was released in it's previous format, people would flock to Uthgard.

Thanks for the update. Personally, I will definitely return and I think many others will, too, as long as the word is spread around properly. Why? Because this is the best game of all time. It is strange, if one looks at almost any specific detail one may easily find a game which surpasses it, but DAoC's very special amalgam is nothing less than a work of artistic genius. Nothing has ever captivated me quite like it.
I'm also sure Uthgard 2 will be a success. The server has been down for almost a year now, and yet hundreds check the website every day for updates on their favourite game. The forums are still active although there is nothing to talk about. I see the constant bickering about the (lack of) frequency of updates not as a tedium, but as a testimony to the tenacity of the playerbase, which is united in its loyalty, its vision and eagerness to play, even if they express it in different ways.
Before too long, weapon- and armourless hordes will be rampaging through the starting zones on release day, just as they did 13 years ago. Then we shall see that the long wait was not in vain and the devs will know that the countless hours of work were worth it, as the server groans under the weight of an unprecedented number of players. The naysayers of the past will fall silent, at least for a short while, privately relieved that they were proven so wrong. And for one brief moment, all will be enraptured in nostalgic bliss.

What was wrong with Dartmoor droprate? Though I have to say, my Bracers of Grateful Adroitness sold very well in the market. Just never put more than one in ...
