i do play the game in a way i like, its just a shame it doesn't coincide with the way 99% of the rest of the server plays.

I duo most of the time and I'm not in a guild so i hardly every get RP's. Therefore when my duo comes across a solo enemy, we try to put it down.

then what usually happens is that that enemy will come back with 4 people and put us down, we try 3 more time and log to an alt.

Thats the way its always been. The mentality of the community on this server is simply, farm RP's so that you can get enough for the next RA. If you don't get RA's, you don't compete and if you don't compete you get nowhere.

trust me i know, I've been here 4 years and don't have an RR5 toon.

I just play one day to the next doing whatever.

I am here for 4 years aswell... 4 years and 1 1/2 month to be exact. I came here alone, didn't have any help from insiders here except for 1 guy that i knew from the Camlann PvP server. Later i met more old companions but basically all the way i went here, i went without any help. Some people who played Albion during the Agramon period might remember my wizard and how hard times i had to get into ANY (not proper) but ANY groups with him. Nowadays noone even bothers to ask for groups as a wizard, as people probably get warned about its uselessness in BG lvls already.

I also admit that i wasn't as strict to myself when it comes to fairplay backthen, as i joined this server when it was in a growing state. From the day i joined and the next 2 years the server was frequently growing in population. I never practiced a gameplay like someother guys/guilds though where red is dead. But jeah i killed solos in a duo, but also killed trios and 4 man and basically what i was looking for was always the challenge.

My intention is just to show you the total opposite of your "career" on Uthgard. There was rarely times this server fully satisfied me, but still i managed to get a bunch of high RR toons. If you love this game, you don't hunt for RA's to get somewhere. This is all excuses. Today it looks a bit worse, as group level increased and setups are fully optimized for this server by some groups, but if you want you can always make your way to the "top".

/agree with Griselda! Its all about - attitude - and perseverance. And eventually also about skill and being an experienced player.

It is a cliche' but I always loved the journey as much or maybe even more than the end goal.
Yes, I like to rvr, but when its not really possible I can find other things to do. Then maybe later or tomorrow I can make it happen.

He wrote that on 27.June. Papabear meanwhile is already included in the council.

I think its important to maybe highlight what the exact function of the council will be. IN order to add representatives that can really help, we need to know what types of issues they will work on. Alot of players get respect from being very successful in a niche. I think the most important attribute a council member can have is the ability to be objective, to see both sides of a argument, to be willing to hear someone out, to not be a YES man.

Council members need to have the courage to disagree with anyone, and the humility to admit if they are wrong.

I honestly hope this council is able to make a positive impact on the server, I do however feel that this is the tip of the iceberg...a start in the right direction. A council of representatives IMHO is still elitist, the players of Uthgard are capable of voting and voicing opinions for themselves. This council would be worth its weight in platinum if it can come away from these council gatherings with clear knowledge of the reason changes are being proposed, and the ability to relate that to their peers.

One of the major causes of of dissatisfaction here is the lack of clarity about why things are changing. I hope this council can provide some transparency to the behind the scenes workings, and help educate the populace of Uthgard into the ideas fueling the changes.

With this education, the community would be well on its way to being able to lend very valid poll information if allowed to have a voice.

I hope this doesn't fall on deaf ears.

to bring some transparancy to what the council does so far: as not yet complete on the player side we already adressed several things to reduce timesinks. We have some very healthy discussions going on.

What, if and when any of these changes will come no one can tell, we are just in the brainstorming phase atm. And that is all the council can do: talk with the developers and GM's about things in a polite way, without QQ and flame. The final decision on what happens is still up only to the developers of uthgard.

edit: a lot of the points to reduce timesinks came from the developers and GM's, just to show you they know very well what bothers the community.
