I agree with you for Uth shutdown for a certain period and come back with fresh news.. I disagree with you about wiping all.. People wouldn't like to xp again all chars.
I think that it's nice for uth to implement stuff to head in the "classic" direction but remember that this is a shard and the characteristic of a shard it's not only to be free but the fact that it can be customized. Even if almost everyone want a server similar to a livelike some customizations that won't affects too much the classic ambientation like: cleansing stones, recharge stones, barrels, quick portings, porting inside keeps etc would be appreciated from players. You got a point in advantage more than Origins: the fact that players built something here. If you wipe all i'm not sure that players will come back again because you're offering the same product. Btw I hope you'll take the best decision for everyone! Thanks for your efforts and for the fun you offered to me in all these years

The decision of the staff to reset the server is, in my opinion, the best thing that has ever happened on Uthgard. It will give new players the possibility to have equal chances and everyone will have a fresh start.

The "new server - everyone starts from scratch" thing isn't something that comes around very often. It's a unique event and it's an awesome feeling to play in such an environment.

Look at origins. It has two things that Uthgard doesn't: Fresh start and old realm abilities. Other than that the server is worse. It's lagging hard and there are a lot of bugs. Uthgard, on the other hand, has a great, stable core and the whole project is a lot more solid and bug-free.

I always imagined how it would be if Uthgard did a character wipe and introduced old realm abilities, while providing a stable and solid game server. I can tell you that there will be a lot of players playing here, I could imagine the population peaking at over 2000 players primetime. Even Origins had 1,500 and they had a playercap and a lot of lags and bugs. Imagine what it will be like on Uthgard!

I know a lot of people will be upset at first because all their effort is gone, but when the server re-opens and there's 10 to 15 times as much players online as before, when there's groups forming everywhere, action in every dungeon, lots of people participating in RvR and the world will feel alive again, you will see that this change is a really, really good and healthy decision.

Because afterall, all your effort, levels and realmpoints aren't worth anything if there's no one to play with.

I salute the Uthgard staff for this brave decision and I can tell you that it will be a good one!

I agree with a chunk of what you said, this however is not true. There was a solo community for a long while. I had a blast earlier in 2013 doing rr6-rr7 on my Inf once I was geared. However more and more people left Uth as more stupid changes came this year there was a slowwwwwwww drop in solo players starting in the summer and it went off a cliff in October to nothing.

i dont think wiping everything is the right thing to do. reset rps, reset money, remove all non livelike/taj/customized items and fine (even all items if no destinktion is possible).

a full wipe is bad since uthgard stands for a consistance for almost 10 years now. its the onlything special left

i understand the problem.but at least dont kill all the chars
