Community News I
|
The player council should be consulted first about some changes, so they can give advices before they go live on Uth. |
|
Even if the vast majority of the community is backing up a certain way of doing, or not doing things, staff will still just do as they please. We've had enough experience with that over the years.
Knowing that, there's really no point in all this but to create an illusion of community involvement at most... Have fun with that lol. In defense of truth-to-experience.

I can say from my pov that it makes quite a difference to have a constructive discussion with ppl who stay calm and don't exaggerate and with less spam&insult inbetween. Not the loudest wins. It's done when it's done. Thanks for your patience.
Every bug gets fixed. Sooner or later. well ok, let's say we have this council, staff is planning some change and presents it to council. Now council decides that they don't want this change. What will this mean, this change won't come? They will take into consideration? Or present some compromise?
The decision of the council would ideally represent opinion of elected players, which would in return ask around about this change and use their experience to decide, so that should be pretty good sample to counteract the argument that change which is hurtful for one is benefical for other ones. And what about changes like, yes, barrels? Staff wouldn't let anyone know about such change, as soon as people would get whiff of this there would be crafting craze of people stocking up. But all in all I am for this, it's not like it can hurt anything I guess |
|
The council can influence priorities if needed. There are open issues that may need to be solved with priority. I think the council can be more compared to TL's who make suggestions and point to problems but not only bothering with one class but the situation as a whole. With the staff they can work out solutions to existing problems.
It's done when it's done. Thanks for your patience.

you can count me in on mid.
1) im English not German 2) 4 years unguilded casual play on uth 3) wants an non-custom server 4) played since open Beta (2001), but quit 1 month into toa 5) calm and reasoned 6) not afraid to put my point across Is that not the kind of thing you are looking for? You obviously already have the RVR/8man/small man/German contingent filled so why not go with someone who has had ZERO contact with either Holsten or Rector. That way you get an unbiased view and not another clone. ![]() |

I know that I wrote that I won't reply to you anymore on this topic, Luydor, but I just want to wish you sincerely good luck.
I'm not ironic. I hope this crazy thing will work, like the first time I read the news. Still I don't know if is better to laugh or cry at the idea that a team of players that differs from the rest of the community just because of an auto-given title can have in some way a bigger influence on the staff actions that every other comment i've read on this forums, or in IRC, or in game, in all this years of enjoying Uthgard. I mean, everyone can wake up tomorrow and post on the forum: "hey, I'm good at organization and i know this server well, so from now on I speak in the name of my realm and the staff can trust me" and this one will have the same legitimacy that you have now. Because your team, in the way you're putting it, it's nothing different from every other group of players in the server. With opinions, suggestions, and the ability to talk to some players and tell to the staff: "hey, the crowd think this" like every other player in this server, but without more influence or legitimacy than every other single player in the server. Legitimacy that only an election involving all the community can give to anyone. I wish you all good work. If I can give a humble suggestion about the council shape, every realm should just have 3 members in it: - 1 PvE representative (someone who play a lot in PvE and knows what people needs and problems experienced atm in PvE); - 1 RvR representative (someone who play a lot in RvR and people can send almost every day in game, don't have to be good in rvr or particularly expert in some form of it (solo, zerg, ecc), he just have to be present, helpful and respectful of others RvR philosophy); - 1 US time zone rapresentative. Plus, as you wrote, the two "special members", maybe someone who play all 3 realms and knows very well game mechanics and, why not, coding, so they can see what bugfixes and patch are prior and talk frankly to the staff. Best to have a little group to concentrate more the infos imho. ![]() |

![]() this thread is just awesome, keep it going ![]() flame the council - that will just have a lot of work and absolutely no profit - before it is even founded. I also think that rectors or luydors and my perspective could be the same on a lot of subjects. So if you want me out i will be very happy to not join the council, and waste a lot of my spare time for this awesome community ![]() |

wtf, i am already in? Not that i even wanted to be... ooooh and what secrets can be found in this council forum oooouh... all the secrets no one even dared to ask.
The correct defense penetration formula, blue just waits 'till Zarkor is send to a mental hospital - 'cause of too much rage - before it is implemented. And did you know ori is a fat man and no cute french girl? And to log a GM acc you only have to press alt+F4 in the exact second the char screen appears, takes some practice to get the timing, but totally worth it! Just awesome to have access to all this information + blues mobile phone number for personal Immediate needed bugfixes 24/7 a week ![]() |

Imagine wtf if beer is forbidden in the council!?
